Wow....I just read that whole story. Something fishy with the new information coming up. Sound's like someone know's something. Poor man, poor child.....I am sure he trusted everyone.
Prayer's for Kent and his family. Hope there is an ending to this story.....

Missing man's relative says lie detector disputes shooting claim

A person who claims to know what happened to Kent Jacobs eight years ago has failed a lie detector test, a family member says.

The test was done through a law enforcement agency, Jackie Jacobs said in an e-mailed statement.

Jackie Jacobs is the sister of Kent, the 42-year-old man who vanished March 10, 2002. Kent Jacobs, who had the mental capacity of a 9-year-old, was last seen in the Colonial Heights neighborhood off N.C. 59 south of Hope Mills.

Jackie Jacobs also heads the KJ Foundation, which she founded after Kent disappeared.

In February, a person came forward claiming that Kent Jacobs was shot in the head at a trailer off Muscat Road in Hope Mills.

At that time, lawmen discounted the story, saying there was no evidence to support it.

Because the investigation continues, lawmen would not confirm or deny today that they have given the person a lie detector test, said Debbie Tanna, spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY — At the same time that a Cumberland County family said it would move Tuesday to have a missing man declared legally dead, a national advocacy group issued a final plea for information "that will lead us to the remains of Kent Jacobs."

New effort planned in case of man missing for 8 years
Published: 10:35 AM, Fri May 07, 2010

Family and volunteers will begin posting new signs Monday at 11 a.m., starting at the Jacobs home at 6032 McDonald Road, the release said.

Sheriff Moose Butler will attend the event and has assigned Detective Nan Trogdon to the case in an effort to find Jacobs, spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said.

The family announced in 2009 that it would begin taking steps to have Jacobs declared legally dead.

Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff's Office at 323-1500.

Kent Jacobs: Killed for $200?

"
We have accepted that Kent is not coming home and there is a possibility his remains will never be recovered," his family was quoted as saying in a 2009 statement from the missing-persons advocacy group Let's Bring Them Home.

"It is with great sadness that we stand with the family of Kent Jacobs to declare their beloved son and brother legally deceased," said LaDonna Meredith, president of Let's Bring Them Home.

Mystery of Hope Mills man's disappearance lingers

More than 10 years after a Hope Mills man disappeared, Cumberland County authorities have no leads, but friends and family continue to push the case.

...

The Cumberland County investigator heading up the case received a credible lead indicating that Jacobs' body might have been buried off Brooklyn Circle. Forensic archaeologists then used high-tech scanners to search for items buried on a wooded lot, but they found no sign of Jacobs or a refrigerator.

...

Jacobs' disappearance is oldest unsolved missing persons case in Cumberland County. It has been treated as a homicide since about five months after he went missing.
