I put up a new web site up for the book, "Journey Beyond Reason" by Peggy Lakin. She is offering the first full chapter of her book on the web site. I wanted to help Peggy get this site online because in my opinion this book is a "must read" on the JonBenet Ramsey murder case. The book is available in soft back or .pdf download and all information about the book is on the web site. :)

Can you give us some idea as to why you think it is a 'must read' and some idea of just who Peggy Lakin is?

A little reminder on the Ramsey "cooperation" w/the BPD from the book -

"Patsy, how can you explain to me that the ransom note came from your pad?' And she would look at me and say, 'It did?' All of America knew it did. I would ask her about "SBTC" and "small foreign faction" mentioned in the ransom note. 'What's that, what's a small foreign faction? What's SBTC?' That was maddening. I felt I couldn't get a straight answer to a lot of pretty straightforward questions. 'Did you touch the note, the ransom note?' 'I don't recall.' 'Did you move the note?' 'I don't remember.' 'Did John touch the note?' 'I don't know."

Did it ever occur to the questioner that 'I don't recall' just might mean " I don't recall" and that " I don't know " means " I don't know". If Patsy has no recollection of John having touched the note, what answer should she have given?

Well, now, Patsy had no recollection of whether the whole family ate lunch or not on December 25th, so rather than say "I don't recall," she said "No, we did not" in one interview, and "Yes, we did" in another interview.

Toth,

The web site link is located at http://www.peggyLakin.com

I invite you to take a few minutes to view the home page of the site and if you have questions about Peggy Lakin you can contact her via the author link provided on the site. Her e-mail address is located on the web site.

In my opinion the book is a "must read" because it provides many factual sourced references that answer questions and provides the readers with some food for thought regarding issues that have transpired within the last couple years.

Thank you,
ACandyRose

I just went to that site ... pure utter garbage.
Got as far as the second page... couldn't take any more of it.

If she is going to start out with absolute nonsense about JonBenet's pageant participation why can't she focus on the 'killed because she was too short to ever be Miss America'. Atleast that would be humorous nonsense, instead of just nonsense.

It is beyond comprehension how this could have happened to anyone's child. To find their killer's requires a journey beyond what we call reason.

About the Author:
:blowkiss:
There is nothing extraordinary about me what so ever. I am just an average person, of average intelligence who through the internet has found others who share the same concerns. We all have the desire to help victims of crime. The internet has opened up a whole new world of interesting people with whom I can converse, share information and work with to try to help in any way we can those who have been touched by the horror of violent crime.

Garbage? What's garbage? I don't know garbage. lol
She obviously is opposed to beauty pageants and thinks that somehow JonBenet was being coerced into pageants and that it was some all-consuming, major project. Since she is so utterly wrong about something where the truth is plainly available to her, I see no need in continuing reading her garbage. It is distressing to me to encounter such lies.

Thank you ACandyRose for posting this, and for all your very hard work on the web site.

I appreciate all the replies on this subject, and yes, even those who feel less than appreciative of what they have read. My objective was not to take sides with anyone other than the victims of violent crimes. Sadly, all too often, they fall to the bottom of the pile and must take their place at the end of the line while the “experts” hash out the legalities and rights of the living. I have merely attempted to put in one place a documented collection of information that is available to all who care to look on the internet and read the books. I regret not having more information available to me on Matthew Margolies and Valerie Percy, and although there is a growing interest in the Percy case on one of the forums I belong to it’s possible that she too will be a mere footnote in history. For whatever reason, the murder of Matthew Margolies was one of those cases that just touched my heart. I make not apologies for my interest in justice for all victims of crime or for choosing these three in particular for the book.

Whether JonBenet participated in 0 or 100 pageants does not diminish or accelerate the importance of her life. It was, however, a part of her short time here on earth and deserved to be mentioned. Sadly, JonBenet was not here long enough to expand her resume. That which was a part of her short time here needs to be considered in the search for any inkling as to the personalities involved in her days and nights here on earth. This is no different from thousands of other searches into any sort of crime. People close to the crime and/or the victim are investigated – it is nothing personal – it is just common sense. IMO, for the families of victims to initially consider it otherwise, in some ways diminishes the value they placed on their loved one and robs that loved one of yet more of their dignity.

Thank you Websleuths for allowing me the opportunity to address this.

Peggy Lakin (aka Little)

The author seems to at least partially state her premise in the 3 or 4th paragraph in the first page when she states that Patsy and her relatives were in league to raise a future Miss America. The rest of the chapter is followed by quotes, statements and other facts in chronological order which don't connect to the premise. I was left wondering what the point of it was, and where the next chapter would lead.

Toth, you say you only read the first 2 pages. Well there was nothing on the first 2 pages that wasn't widely reported in all the media a thousand times or more. I read the first 2 pages and was bored to death, since it was nothing but a rehash of what we all have known for years. Beauty pageants were part of JonBenet's background. What, is every author supposed to ignore the whole pageant issue because the Ramseys want people to believe it was a normal family activity?

OMGGGGG.... are Toth and myself the only people who support Ramseys or are convinced of their innocence? My goodness, does everyone here on WS convict EVERYONE? :truce:

I find it odd that you can be *convinced* of innocence of people you don't even know.

Many people seem convinced of their guilt and don't even know them.

How often does anyone know someone who is suspected of a crime.
