Richard, thank you for starting this thread on Arlin. I Have seen Arlin's Parents interviewed a couple of times in the last few days, and they are clearly very sad, yet hopeful. There are similarities between Arlin's disappearance and Shawn's and Ben's abductions.

The family of Arlin Henderson will host a candlelight vigil Wednesday to commemorate the 16th anniversary of his disappearance.

Arlin was 11 on July 25, 1991, when he didn't return from a bike ride in Moscow Mills, near his home. His family continues to work to find him and is hoping for a break in the case.

When Shawn Hornbeck and William "Ben" Ownby were discovered in a Kirkwood apartment in January, Arlin's family said they had new hope.

But no connection has been made between the cases and the man charged in the disappearances of the other boys — Michael J. Devlin.

Charles was 11 when he disappeared while riding his bike. He has never been seen or heard from since. Josh Spangler confessed to abducting and killing Charles but he would have only been 13 at the time and LE concluded Spangler was lying and charged him with perjury.
They are looking at Michael Devlin as a possible suspect.

Whatever came of that photograph of the young man with the cat they found? I think it was with Devlin's stuff? The young man looked like Arlin's age-progression.

New reward offered in 18-year-old missing child case
By Robert Patrick
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The FBI is planning to announce a new reward for information in the case of an 11-year-old Moscow Mills boy, Arlin Leon Henderson, who went missing on July 25, 1991.

At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, investigators will also display age-progressed photos that should show what Arlin would look like now and other family photos.

FBI hopes for new leads in child’s 1991 disappearance

Convinced that someone, somewhere has crucial information about the disappearance of an 11-year-old Moscow Mills boy almost 19 years ago, FBI and sheriff’s investigators publicly displayed Arlin Henderson’s bicycle for the first time Tuesday, saying that somebody, somewhere has information that could finally lead to answers.

“We will jog somebody’s memory,” vowed FBI Special Agent Billy Cox, who has worked on the case for years and who uncrated the bicycle in front of reporters Tuesday.

[snip]

For their part, investigators have interviewed and re-interviewed relatives, neighbors and the names that they’ve been given by tipsters and others over the years.

The FBI has even talked to Michael Devlin, currently serving 74 life sentences for the abduction of Shawn Hornbeck in 2002 and Ben Ownby in 2007.

But Cox said that there was “no link” between Devlin and Arlin that investigators can see “at this point.”

Each time a new evidence collection or analysis technique emerges, they look to see whether it will be helpful. Cox said that happened most recently a handful of years ago, and investigators have found “trace evidence” over the years. He would not elaborate on any evidence or suspects, but that evidence has apparently not led to a suspect.

A $10,000 reward for information has been in place since 1997.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 314-589-2500 or 1-800-THE-LOST.

FBI still trying to piece together clues in Arlin Henderson case

The FBI is reaching out to the public in a 19-year old cold case involving a missing Lincoln County boy.

Charles "Arlin" Henderson of Moscow Mills went missing in July of 1991.

Two and a half months later officials found the bike that Henderson had been riding.

FBI Special Agent Billy Cox showed the bike to the media on Tuesday in hopes that it might compel someone with information to come forward.

Mother of missing Lincoln County boy pleads for public's help

The FBI agents unscrewed a wooden case holding the bike that her son was last seen alive on, as Arlin Henderson's mother watched, wiping away tears.

It was 19 years ago that the Moscow Mills, Missouri boy disappeared. He was eleven-years old. Today, his mother and FBI agents held a news conference seeking the public's help solving the case.

Arlin's mother, Debbie Griffith, says it's been a long ordeal.

"If anyone out there has a heart, none of us are getting any younger, and I'd sure like to know what happened to my son before I die, " Griffith said, "I'd like to see his smile again, if he's alive. And if he's dead, I would like to bury him and be at peace."

Arlin was a former classmate. We grew up miles away from him. When he went missing it was a loss of innocence. We knew that we were no longer safe. This year on the 20th anniversary I posted about him on Facebook. I got a private message from another former classmate giving me information and a name of a person who happens to be in prison currently, as the person responsible for his death and why. I can only assume its just rumor and was investigated but it makes me sad that in our small town it has gone unsolved for 20 years. I wish we just knew.

It may be only a rumor. But it is also possible that there may be some truth in it. I suggest that you pass the information on to investigators and let them check it out.

In Lincoln County, where investigators have two longstanding missing child cases — Arlin Henderson, who disappeared July 25, 1991, and Bianca Piper, who was last seen on March 10, 2005 — officials expressed a similar passion about getting the cases solved.

"We do not give up on these cases," said Lincoln County Sheriff Mike Krigbaum. "We investigate any leads that come in. Who knows? Arlin Henderson or Bianca Piper may show up one of these days."
