Details of Disappearance
Bell resided in Pensacola, Florida in 2001. She attended Tate High School and was a member of the cheerleading squad. She was popular at school and enjoys dancing and drawing. Bell was last seen at a party on September 30, 2001. She has never been heard from again. Authorities initially believed that Bell left her home of her own accord and classified her case as that of an Endangered Runaway. Her loved ones told investigators that she had friends who may have had a negative influence on her behavior at the time.

Bell was last seen at a party Robert Louis Bassett Jr.'s residence on Cedar Tree Lane in Cantonment, Florida. The witnesses left the party that night, leaving Bell behind with Bassett. Bassett, who was 25 or 26 years old at the time, allegedly threatened another individual after Bell vanished. Investigators stated that the other male told officers that Bassett saw Bell on September 30 and provided Bassett's contact information to law enforcement. Bassett allegedly stalked the individual for several days afterwards. He was arrested sometime after Bell disappeared, but no charges have been filed against anyone in connection with her case. Authorities searched Bassett's residence after his arrest, but officials declined to publicly announce if any evidence was taken from the scene.

Witnesses said that Bell visited a park on the corner of Escambia Avenue and Lakewood Avenue in Cantonment on September 30, 2001. The area where she was seen is near Bassett's house.

Bell's disappearance remains classified as that of a runaway, but foul play is now suspected in her case. She may have traveled to Panama City, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; or the state of Alabama. There is also a possibility that Bell remained in the Pensacola area after her disappearance. Some agencies may list September 28, 2001 as the date of Bell's disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

KlaasKIDS Foundation's Search Center for Missing Children and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office will conduct another search today for Danielle Bell.

Danielle -- who was 14 years old at the time of her disappearance -- was last seen in the early morning of Sept. 29, 2001, near Cedar Tree Lane in Cantonment after a party.

Brad Dennis, director of search operations for KlaasKIDS, said the search will be conducted with the help of Escambia Fire-Rescue and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

Trained search teams will use K-9s and information gleaned from the Escambia County cold case squad in the hunt.

"We have received new leads from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office," Dennis said. "They have continued to gather information, and they requested us to come and search a couple of areas."

Dennis said he would not disclose the location of the search because one of the areas is private property.

Wow. She looks so much older in those pictures than 14.

Hope LE puts pressure on the guy that saw her last. I have a feeling he knows more than he's telling.

Missing Children’s Day: Search Continues In North Escambia Case

A girl that was last seen nine years ago in North Escambia is among those that will be remembered today on the 12 annual Florida Missing Children’s Day.

Danielle Arion Bell, 14, was last seen at a party on September 30, 2001, near Cantonment. The teenager is believed to be an endangered runaway, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Danielle has a scar on her right forearm and blue eyes. She had brown hair at the time of her disappearance. She is now 22 years old.

Danielle is one of 25 missing children and adults being featured in a statewide billboard campaign this week.

Investigators found nothing Thursday when they searched a septic tank in connection with the 2001 disappearance of Tate High student Danielle Arion Bell, 14.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit served a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Cedar Tree Lane in Cantonment — the same home where Bell was reportedly last seen at a party.

As part of that search warrant, a septic tank behind the residence was pumped out, and dogs from Escambia County Search and Rescue were also used around the home.

"Missing Children’s Day: Search Continues In North Escambia Case"

http://www.northescambia.com/2015/09/missing-childrens-day-search-continues-in-north-escambia-case-5

A Tate High School student last seen 14 years ago in North Escambia was among those remembered Monday on the 2015 Florida Missing Children’s Day in Tallahassee.

““Our prayers are with each of the parents and loved ones of missing children for the heartache that they have experienced. Florida remains a national leader in combating these terrible crimes, and we will continue to work together to shine a light on any crime that places the life of a child at risk,” Florida Gov. Rick Scott said Monday.

Robert Louis Bassett (see #1) is a particularly repulsive individual. He has a long criminal record covering burglary, theft, battery and several prison terms (see http://mugshots.com/US-Counties/Florida/Miami-Dade-County-FL/Robert-L-Bassett-Jr.3782248.html). If ever a persons criminal record made him a suspect, given the events around the disappearance, it is the record of Robert Bassett. I cannot imagine a 14 year old girl surviving association with this individual.

The scene at Harvester Homes Community Park on Saturday had all the necessary items for a birthday party: food, family and fun. However, the most important aspect was missing, the birthday girl. That is because Danielle Bell has been missing nearly 15 years.

"It's just been a roller coaster nightmare," Susan Bell said. "Especially knowing what we know."

Danielle Bell would have celebrated her 29th birthday with family and friends this past Thursday. Instead, KlaasKids Foundation held a party on Saturday in hopes that it would reignite memories about what happened the night she vanished on September 28, 2001.

The KlaasKids Foundation will host a walk in Pensacola on Wednesday to raise awareness of the lingering missing persons cases in Escambia County.

The community event, the Missing Person’s Community AwarenessWalk, will include family members of local missing persons and a “silent” walk from Bartram Park to the Hawkshaw Missing Person’s Memorial at 211 Bayfront Parkway to 499 Bayfront Parkway.

The walk will also mark the 15th anniversary of the disappearance of Danielle Bell, who went missing from Cantonment at age 14.

Cold Case: Where Is Danielle Bell?

http://wkrg.com/2017/05/12/cold-case-where-is-danielle-bell/

In 2001 in Cantonment, a 14-year-old girl went missing after leaving a party, seemingly vanishing into thin air. Danielle Arion Bell was a student at Tate High School, a cheerleader, and a popular girl.

The case may be over a decade old, but Danielle’s mother shared new information with us and discussed allegations about local law enforcement mishandling the case.

The party Danielle was last seen at was in the 500 block of Cedar Tree Lane at Robert Louis Bassett Jr.’s house. Bassett was in his mid-twenties at the time.

He wasn’t the only older man Danielle hung around with. Alfredo Gomez Sanches Jr, 24 at the time, was in a sexual relationship with Danielle. He’s now serving 30 years in prison, just for crimes committed against Danielle, in addition to more time for other sex charges and intimidating a witness.

Just weeks before her disappearance, Susan says Danielle told her she thought she was pregnant, and Alfredo Sanchez was the father. Danielle was scheduled for a doctor’s appointment the week after she went missing.

“There’s too much evidence and things point to… she was murdered that night, ” Susan Bell said.

She also believes someone at the party that night knows what happened to her daughter.

“At the time I could understand because they were scared,” Susan said of why people wouldn’t come forward. “But it’s been years now. You’ve got kids of your own. So, you would be ok with somebody doing this to your kid? [That] is how I’m taking it.”

“It’s been probably three years ago…” Bell said of the last time she spoke with an investigator. “I’m tired of hearing ‘I don’t have time because we’re understaffed.’ Figure it out,”

This is normally the part of the story where we would talk to law enforcement about the case and about the allegations Susan Bell has made about how the case has been handled. But, we had some trouble.

Early in the week, we reached out to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to request an interview about Danielle’s case. On Wednesday, ECSO said the case had been turned over to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, so we called them. On Thursday, the FDLE said they did not have the case, but they had assisted in the past. They deferred to the lead, ECSO. On Friday, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office did confirm they had the case, but they declined to do an interview about Danielle Bell.

“They have messed this case up from the very beginning,” Susan Bell said. “They’ve lost evidence, they’ve lost paperwork… it’s just been ongoing with them.”

Unidentified body found in Escambia county maybe after all these years...

Never heard of this case before today. Wow, I agree that it was mishandled. She was 14! I would be outraged if I was the mother in this situation. Doesn't sound good, likely murdered imo. Hopefully they can find her remains and the family can have closure

The Vanished Podcast just released an episode today for Danielle. It sounds like they know who is responsible for her disappearance, they just don't have enough evidence.
