Identified! OH - Warren Co., Male skeletal remains, 25-45, Oct'07 - Aleksandr Alferov

Here is another article about the body that was found. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070607/NEWS01/706070336

Time of death: Three to 10 years ago.

Age range: Mid-20s to mid-40s.

Height range: 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches.

Size: The man was wearing green-toned pants or shorts, size 36 waist. He also wore an extra-large T-shirt of an unknown color.

Ethnicity: Caucasian, possibly of eastern European descent.

Other clues: 11 solid-gold or gold-capped teeth; extensive dental work of average quality, performed several years before his death. The man broke a right rib at some point in his lifetime

LE says they have checked local missing persons and found no matches. And there is no mention on Alferov's profile of the 11 gold teeth. Still it doesn't hurt to check into it more.

I thought of Ray Gricar first only because he has ties to Ohio, but he doesn't have 11 gold teeth that I know of and he's older than the 20-40 guesstimate.

"
Ray Gricar may also use the names Ray Lange or Ray Gray. He was last seen wearing a blue fleece jacket, jeans, and tennis shoes. He has ties to Ohio and California."

This is sad ... can't believe there's no missing person description that includes 11 gold teeth. That stands out immensely.

Prayers for his poor soul. I hope he is soon identified and can rest in peace.

Possible?

good find, Jaded. You should send that to the LE in Ohio!!!

I sent an email to the Warren County Sheriff's office, including the doenetwork link.

I really think that is the guy. Granted, he's been missing since 1983, he could've took off to work or live or hide somewhere else. Maybe he was hitchhiking and was picked up by someone, robbed and dumped. He may have been alive for years and then killed in this decade.

Good find!

Wow yeah great job! I cant believe it took them over two years to identify the body when the answer was here all along! Jaded, did LE ever respond to your emails?

From November 2009:

http://ekurd.net/mismas/articles/misc2009/11/kurdsworldwide410.htm

Warren County Court Judge Joseph Kirby set bond Thursday at $100,000 for Ermek Abdildaev, a native of Kurdistan who faces charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence... Charges against Abdildaev stem from the death of Aleksandr Alferov, 32...

They think Alferov was killed around the time he went missing in August-September 2000... So far, no one has been charged with killing Alferov, whose skull had been bashed in.

Braley confirmed that Abdildaev was one of two men who are alleged in Hamilton County court records to have received money from the dead man's bank accounts. "It is believed that both (Abdildaev and another man) wrote checks to themselves, totaling $27,000," from Alferov's accounts, wrote an attorney who was investigating what happened to Alferov and his money.

From June 2010:

A Gurnee man has been sentenced to three years in an Ohio prison for tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse in a Russian immigrant's slaying.

Here's a pic of Mr Alferov from The Charley Project's resolved cases. (near the bottom of the page)

Alferov, 32, disappeared from Cincinnati, Ohio on June 29, 2001. In May 2007, his skeletal remains were found wrapped in a comforter on a roadside in Warren County, Ohio. The bones had been there so long that foliage had sprouted in between them. They were not identified until September 2009. Testing using the DNA of Alferov's sister in Moscow confirmed the identification. Investigators believe Alferov died of blunt force trauma, and they think he knew his attacker. They stated they had a person of interest in Alferov's murder, but no arrests have yet been made.
