It's been days since anyone has seen Susan Fast. Detectives suspect foul play and are even searching a local landfill for her body. (great video at link)

Thomas Fast (stepson) was arrested on Saturday, June 30th, for Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He is being held at the Manatee County Jail with bond set at $100,000. He has not been charged in connection with the disappearance of Susan Fast.

I wonder why this stepson would want to murder his stepmom. Maybe he wanted some money and she refused to give it to him. It sounds like the whole family suspect the stepson. How horrible for the husband. I hope they find her body. If he was ditching two garbage bags I wonder if this is another case of dismembering the body and dumping it into different garbage dumpsters?

The Fast family told the Herald-Tribune that they had lived in fear of Thomas for many weeks because he was upset about losing his father's inheritance. He thought Susan Fast was in line to get the bulk of his father's money, Bruce Fast said.

Police and family members say he has been treated at a psychiatric facility in Southwest Florida, but the circumstances of that treatment were not immediately clear. Richard Fast, his brother, said that Thomas struggled with mental health problems.

State inspectors revoked his concealed weapons permit in January.

Geez, they must know something to be searching a landfill.

I read on the Fox news site this morning that a teenage boy, living near where the woman's Lexus was found, reported seeing a man in his 40s leaving the Lexus there at about 3am. He left the vehicle, carrying two large black bags, and headed north up the street.

I think this one is going to be solved very soon.

Good information, tamfish. Thanks!

Everything seems to be pointing in his direction. What a shame for this woman and her family. :(

The son of missing Florida woman said his mother had just returned from a business trip to the Bahamas with his father and had a camera with her that could provide important clues in the case.

Travis Fast told FOXNews.com that Susan Fast had flown back to Florida a day earlier than her husband, Bruce. Travis Fast said he hopes someone can locate the camera's memory card, which may help in the search for his mother.

“She was carrying a camera that has photos of her and my dad,” Travis Fast said. “Hopefully, we can trace back that information ... We’re trying to get as many clues as we can.”

This was just posted in the news forum:

At least one bag containing human remains was discovered on Thursday night near a busy road in Osceola County, according to officials, who said they are treating the find as a suspicious death

Detectives are calling it a probable homicide. What we don't know yet is the age, sex or condition of the body. Those details may emerge from an autopsy set for Friday afternoon at the Orlando Medical Examiner's Office.

A second possible scene was being investigated, mid-morning Friday, a quarter-mile north at the intersection of Boggy Creek Road and the Osceola Parkway.

Detectives won't say if the victim met their end on the dirt access road or was dumped. Sheriff's officials are calling the death unusual, given the nature of the way the body was disposed.

Osceola County detectives this morning confirmed that the suspicious package found on a dirt road Thursday contained human remains.

Investigators are ruling the findings as a "suspicious death" and the medical examiner's office is scheduled to perform an autopsy later today, said sheriff's office spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain.

Human remains discovered in multiple garbage bags off a dirt road in Osceola County on Thursday were that of a woman, according to officials.

Sources told Local 6 News that the remains were not decomposed but were still fresh and that they had been next to the dirt road for only a short time.

Sheriff: Body parts belong to a human female

The medical examiner did his work to determine the species and the gender in the driveway behind the stores and under one of five canvass tent tops set up for shade.
No official can say that the body parts coming from a retention pond and the storm drain are Susan Fast, the woman missing since June 30. But a small army of people - about 50 at last count - were working at the crime scene, where Fast's car was driven about three weeks ago, apparently by a suspect in the case.
Earlier today, the sighting of a small plastic bag floating in the pond led to the discovery of body parts inside it. Then Manatee County Sheriff's Office personnel shifted their attention to a storm drain, which comes off a a service driveway behind the Publix and other businesses. The large concrete drain is about 30 feet from the edge of the pond.

What other female is missing in that area? The body parts must not be Susan Fast as she has been missing for to long for the body parts to be in good shape.

Sheriff's employees were preparing to do an underwater search of the pond behind the Publix around 8 a.m. Wednesday when they saw a black plastic garbage bag partially submerged in the water. It contained several body parts.

Divers then searched the bottom of the pond for several hours before investigators moved to a nearby storm drain that empties into the pond.

Inside the drain was another garbage bag containing the rest of Susan Fast's body.

Authorities used a forklift to remove the drain's concrete cover, but sheriff's spokesman Randy Warren said the opening in the storm drain was large enough to push through the remains of Susan Fast.

Investigators believe both bags were placed in the drain, and the smaller bag was somehow dislodged, possibly by recent rains, Warren said.

An autopsy on the remains was done Thursday, and as a result authorities announced that Fast was murdered, but they are not saying how.

I'm so glad that the son has been charged. What a loser. I feel so sad for the husband/father. I'm glad that he has no sympathy for his loser son. How could he have done that to his dad?? His dad and stepmother had been married for years and all of a sudden this loser decides to get rid of the stepmother. She raised him like her own. I hope he doesn't get off on some mental health excuse.

Roberts also questioned the fact that Bruce Fast always implicated his son as having something to do with his wife’s disappearance.

“From the very beginning, he was stating that Thomas must be involved before anybody knew anything about what happened to Susan,” Roberts said.

Roberts also said Bruce Fast contaminated the crime scene in his house after he called authorities to report his wife missing. Roberts said he also plans to call a witness who helped look for Susan as part of several search parties arranged by Bruce Fast in the days following his wife’s disappearance.

Defense is gonna try to blame Dad or SODDI. :banghead:
