This might be a significant clue.

The National Sanitation Foundation along with its testing facilies is based at Ann Arbor, Michigan. The plastic in which the unknown woman's remains were wrapped came from there.

The time-frame, age, and geography are OK. She somewhat resembles the poorly drawn forensic sketch.

But the height is a bit of a stretch, and the hair color appears to be off. The UID is listed at 5'6" to 5'8", and has light brown/blonde hair. Cheryl Tillinghast is listed at 5'3", and her hair is pretty dark.

I noticed the difference in height, too. I'm not sure what to think about the hair color. The profile says that the victim was decomposed from the waist up, so I don't know how much hair was left to determine the color.

Yes, I'd like to know the story behind that. I'm sure there are people who go missing and are never reported but I'm curious about why someone would decide to do so after so many years.

I wonder if LE wouldn't take a missing person's report initially and told her family that they thought she was a runaway or something along those lines? If I understand correctly, missing persons reports weren't routinely taken back in the 1970s?

Is it possible that this could be her?

Yes: She died in September 1973.
Light Brown Hair
Not that far away from where she went missing from

Maybe they haven't checked it? When it takes so long for someone to be reported missing usually the answer is one that would have been blindingly obvious had they been reported.

I agree, the two separate threads are about the same girl. Sometimes duplicates occur.

think I have a possible match. On the Doe Network:
20UFNJ and Sheryl Ann Tillinghast.

Map quest says 139 miles, time frame, height, weight, funny teeth all lineup. opinions please.

Wow-this could be a match! I hope LE looks at this. I would like to see a match for Sylvia Lwowski, too (disappeared from Staten Island in 1975), as well as a name for a woman who was found dead, who was never claimed-she had a scorpion tattoo on her backside. Any matches for these girls would be appreciated.
