"MOUNT PLEASANT -- Federal agents have joined in the mid-Michigan search for a missing Leelanau County teen.
The FBI, Michigan Indian Law Officers and the Bureau of Indian Affairs were looking for 18-year-old Augustine Floyd, a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
Floyd went to a T-Pain concert Oct. 12 in Mount Pleasant and did not return to his Suttons Bay home. "

"Family members have told police the teen was to attend the concert at Central Michigan University with a Manistee woman named Kendra whom he met on the Internet.

After the concert, Floyd reportedly went to a party on the Isabella reservation.

Floyd stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has brown eyes and hair and was wearing a dark sweatshirt, white T-shirt, dark jeans and white sneakers, police have said.
The teen's vehicle is a four-door 1995 Cadillac DeVille with a bungee cord securing the damaged trunk and a blue license plate with the registration AAN 4697, Sowmick said. "

I'm so glad you posted this. I saw the story on the news but then forgot to post it.

Hoppyfrog, we seem to post on a lot of the same threads. Where in MI are you? I'm about 15 minutes north of Ann Arbor, but I grew up just outside of Midland and Bay City....and I lived in the Kalamazoo and Clarkston areas as well.

This article states that he got into a bit of an altercation at the party http://www.themorningsun.com/stories/102307/loc_missing.shtml

This one says that people are "lying" to the police http://www.9and10news.com/category/story/?id=123972

This one talks about the fact that this young man has already lost both parents and was just getting his life together....lots of this point to foul play.....

This is the most recent link....they're searching rivers, lakes, and ravines.....

There are a lot of 2-tracks, woods, fields, drainage ditches (and I mean the kind that can swallow a car whole with no problem) in this area. They also have to contend with the fact that he disappeared from the reservation. None of this looks good at all......

Volunteers and police continue to look in a vast, wooded area in eastern Isabella County for an 18-year-old Leelanau County man who went missing Oct. 12.

Meanwhile, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police are re-interviewing potential suspects in the disappearance of Auggie Floyd of Suttons Bay after finding inconsistencies in their statements, Tribal spokesman Joe Sowmick said Wednesday.

Initial interviews with people who saw Floyd at a party on the Isabella Reservation after he attended a concert Oct. 12 at Central Michigan University have at times contradicted themselves, Sowmick said, and police are conducting follow-up interviews.

They still haven't found him. Lots of suspects.
This kid has had a really bad life.

Floyd’s life has already been marked with tragedy. His mother, Kathleen “Cottney” Floyd Garcia, was murdered in February 2002 on the Peshawbestown reservation.
The 29-year-old mother of seven was stabbed to death by her husband, Severo Garcia Meza, who was later sentenced to life in federal prison. Local officers confirmed Wednesday that it was Floyd, not yet a teenager, who was injured while trying to defend his mother from her attacker.

A Leelanau County man who disappeared after attending a concert at Central Michigan University Oct. 12 and a party later that night was last seen at a friends home in Union Township, police said Wednesday.

While Auggie Floyd was originally thought to have been last seen at a party on the Isabella Reservation, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police detectives Jason VanConant and Phil Mata, the lead investigators in the case, found that Floyd left the party and had planned on spending the night at a friends home on Francis Drive near Bamber Road.

Floyd, a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, went to his friends home but later left, alone in his 1995 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, VanConant said.

A task force led by Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police is stepping up efforts to find a Leelanau County man who was last seen in Isabella County last October.

Police have for about the past week brought the case back to the forefront, conducting follow-up interviews in an effort to find Auggie Floyd, 18, who disappeared Oct. 12 after going to a friend's Union Township home.

Hoppy, I jumped on this thread right away, hoping for news. I'm really sad that it's been over a year. Can't believe they haven't even found the car yet, especially with deer hunting being so big in that area. I still keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

SDWR475,

Thank you for posting the youtube information. Is it okay if any of us here forward the link to the youtube video? (I'd rather have your permission since you brought the clip here.)

Sincerely, Boyz_Mum :blowkiss:

So sorry I have not signed on here in a while. I have been really busy. You may forward this to anyone, and even the news stations. I sent some info to the Saginaw Chippeewa Tribal police, and have heard no response of my findings on this case. Someone out there knows what happened to him, and all they need do is call the TIPS line. Are you related to Augustine Floyd?
