Questions Remain About Missing Mom

KOTV - 12/3/2007 11:24 AM - Updated 12/3/2007 7:18 PM
A Tulsa mother has been missing for a month. Just a few weeks before her disappearance, she had accused a man of rape. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports the woman had also filed a protective order against the man she accused. An order to extend that order was filed on Monday, at the request of homicide detectives.
The detective working on the case Monday evening told the News On 6 he has new evidence in the case. He can't say what it is, but says it helps him establish a time line before Angie Tucker disappeared. He also says it confirms his fears that she's been the victim of foul play.
When 34-year-old Angie Tucker didn't show up for work at the OSU Medical Center in early November, they reported her missing. Her employer and her family say it's unusual for her to be out of contact especially from her two children.
Angie Tucker told police on October 6th, that her ex-boyfriend entered her apartment around four in the morning, raped her and left. He was arrested a short time later. Two days after that, she filed a protective order against him. She said he had attempted to cause her harm, had harassed her and stalked her. She wrote, “he broke in my home and raped me."
The man denies any forcible sex took place.
Police in Tulsa say the district attorney didn't have enough evidence, so charges weren’t filed in the case. A couple of weeks later, Angie Tucker disappeared and hasn't been seen since.
"We have no clue where she is. And, that's what's so frustrating is that we don't have a starting point of where to look. And, everybody is just worried sick,” said Hylan Tucker, Angie’s brother.
Her family has handed out flyers and the volunteers who have been searching for the body of 13-year-old Cori Baker have also been looking for any signs of Angie Tucker.
Police interviewed the ex-boyfriend and say they're looking at every possible scenario.
The News On 6 also talked to the ex-boyfriend's attorney who says his client understands why police wanted to talk to him, but that he has no idea where Angie Tucker is and hasn't seen her in about a month, like everybody else.

Family Desperate To Find Missing Woman

KOTV - 11/16/2007 4:54 PM - Updated 11/16/2007 7:52 PM
A family hopes you can help find their loved one. Thirty-four year old mother of two, Angie Tucker, disappeared November 3. The News On 6’s Latoya Silmon reports Tulsa Police are on the case, but Angie Tucker’s family says they need everyone to help crack this one. Her brother, Hylan Tucker, says they won't rest until she's home.
Angie Tucker's family is at their wits end.
“We have no clue where she is,” said Hylan Tucker, Angie Tucker’s brother. “That's what's so frustrating is that we don't have a starting point of where to look and everybody is just worried sick.”
Hylan Tucker says no one has seen or heard from his baby sister since Saturday, November 3. He says it wasn't until the following Monday when she didn't come to work that they knew something was terribly wrong.
“Because my sister always, if she says she's going to do something she does it,” Hylan Tucker said. “She goes to work. She's very dedicated to her job.”
And her children.
Now, Angie Tucker’s family is hard at work passing out flyers hoping someone knows something.
“She has two children, Yamauine and Day Day, I can't even begin to describe what they're feeling because their mother is gone,” Angie Tucker’s brother Hylan Tucker said. “I know they're hurting really bad.”
And the only way to ease their pain is to find her; Hylan says he's not giving up.
“She refers to me as big brother, so if she's out there and she can hear me, big brother will come and get you,” Hylan Tucker said.
Hylan says his sister did have a restraining order against an ex-boyfriend, but police will not say whether he's a person of interest in the case. Meanwhile, anyone with information about Angie Tucker's disappearance is asked to call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS, all callers can remain anonymous

It would be nice if they'd release the ex boyfriend's name.

This is from January and the latest news I could find doing a google search:

A new group is searching for two missing Tulsans and plans other forms of service, as well.

Searches for two Tulsans who have been missing since November have inspired the formation of a new volunteer group.

Core -- or Citizens of Oklahoma Respond to Emergencies -- is an effort to aid authorities in situations ranging from missing-person searches to disaster response and recovery, founder Ron Van Voorhis said. Its creation was inspired by the extensive search efforts for Cori Baker, 13, and for Angie Tucker, 34.

Thanks, SewingDeb. I find it very disturbing that nothing is coming out about this case at all. Not a clue. Not a story. I had to really search to find the guy's name!!

For gosh sakes, he is the only POI as far as I know and he does sound like a prime candidate as his past actions indicate (charges were dropped). I still believe he did rape her and I believe the Restraining Order put in place afterward was the catalyst for her murder.

Police Ask For Help In Search For Young Mother

The search for a young mother has gone cold. Angie Tucker disappeared last November and police say they have very few leads. News on 6 Anchor Latoya Silmon reports Angela Tucker's mother says the news of Cori Baker's discovery is bittersweet. On one hand she's glad Cori was found, but on the other, the news breaks her heart fearing Angie could share the same fate.

Police say the ex boyfriend is not a suspect. Hmmm...

I wonder if LE is just letting him think that they don't see him as a suspect. He has to be a suspect...just not named yet. He broke into her apt and raped her and then she got the restraining order. That probably really ticked him off. Who else would have motive to murder her?

I agree. They did name him as a POI early on, so the suspect label simply hasn't come into play yet. They need more evidence.

Tulsa County prosecutors file charges against a man with a violent history.
Court records show 33-year-old Allen Shields has been charged with five counts including two complaints of kidnapping, possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree burglary.

Tulsa police homicide detectives says Shields has been a person of interest in his ex-girlfriends disappearance in November 2007.

Angie Tucker’s body still has not been found.

What a scary ordeal for the mom and young daughter. Then to find out that the man who attacked them is connected to Angie. I had been following her story because I am from Tulsa. I had wondered if it had just become another cold case. I hope justice is served for the family he just attacked and for Angie.

He didn't post bond again...I snipped a little info from the link above. Thank goodness!

snipped from the above link:
The minutes from Monday’s bond posting were placed on a court Web site Wednesday, making it appear that he had posted bond again.

Some news outlets, court, jail and police officials believed Wednesday afternoon Shields was in the process of posting bond because of the Web posting, but they quickly realized that he remained in his cell.

“He’s not bonding out today,” jail spokesman Sgt. Shannon Clark said Wednesday. “Nobody has even inquired about him.”

Angie Denise Tucker was living with her mother and her two children at 4145 E. Xyler St. when she disappeared Nov. 3, 2007. The previous night, Tucker had received several phone calls and began acting strange after one of those phone calls, her daughter told police. After Tucker hung up the phone, she told her family she was going to the store but never returned. An employee at Oklahoma State University Medical Center, Tucker failed to appear for work the next day and has not been seen since.

The family of a missing Tulsa woman is hoping for new leads in her case, after the lead suspect took his own life during a confrontation with police.

It happened Monday night in North Tulsa. Police say Allen Shields broke into the home of a former girlfriend and took her 11-year-old daughter hostage for hours, before releasing her...

Tulsa Police homicide Sgt. Mike Huff says with Shields out of the picture, Tucker's case is heating up. "In fact we have a lead going on right now. So some of this is just happening as we speak. And I think that maybe people will come forward. While some people just don't want to get involved, other people have been legitimately scared of this man."
