Sumter County deputies are searching for a man who was involved in a car accident, and then became unaccounted for.

They're searching for 38-year-old James Harley. Harley has been missing since last Saturday and family members say what bothers them the most is how he went missing.

and

The driver of the car told family members that Harley got out of the vehicle and wandered off before help arrived.

That was last Saturday, no one has seen him since.

and

Harley is five feet four inches tall, 135 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a mustache.

If you have any information that could help call Crimestoppers at 1-888-555-tips.

The man's uncle says he was told that Harley was involved in an accident while riding as a passenger in a car on Highway 521 January 11. The area was near the town of Rembert. However, the man was never taken to the hospital, and no one knows where he went after the incident.

His family says they're worried he may have gotten hurt. Deputies don't think foul play is involved.

A Rembert man has been missing for almost four months, leaving the people who are looking for him stumped.

Authorities spent Saturday trying to bring his mysterious disappearance to an end.

"This is strictly a recovery operation now to see if we can locate Mr. Harley," says Sheriff Anthony Dennis.

James Reginald Harley has been missing since mid-January. The car he was riding in hit a tree. Then witnesses say he got out bleeding from his head and started to walk home.
