Note that he speaks "School English and some Mandarin"- so he's more than likely not really from China. Also note that he had receipts in Spanish and that the Pyrenees form a border between France and Spain and that Andorra is sandwiched between the Spanish Pyrenees and the French Pyrenees. Andorra also has Spanish and French as recognized languages, so he could have originally been in Spain or Andorra prior to being in the Pyrenees for 3 months and then going to France. Lapalisse is canton of the Auvergne region (the capital of the Auvergne region is Clermont-Ferrand- one of it's twin towns is Oviedo, Spain)

So if he speaks school English and some Mandarin, I wonder what his original mother-tongue language was? Has he totally forgotten it? Is that even possible?

Or does he speak Mandarin as his mother -tongue and can only recall some of it?

English is pretty commonly spoken in Hong Kong; it was a British territory until 1997. However, Cantonese is the most commonly spoken language, Mandarin speakers are a minority. (I feel like he was probably from HK, based on his glasses case).

Also, his Doe Network page is down, so he might have been identified?
