Bumping this case up. It will be 35 years old this June. Perhaps there will be some anniversary articles written about it.

Rita disappeared about the time and from the same area as a lot of Ted Bundy's other victims, but I do not believe that he ever admitted to abducting her.

Miss Jolly certainly resembles the type of girl Bundy went after, the long dark hair & so forth. Her picture would fit in with all his other known victims.
Apparently he lacked the decency to care about his victims' families even as he faced the electric chair. There are many girls from that time period still missing from areas he was known to have lived in or passed through. Their families will probably never have any idea whether they were his victims or not or what became of their remains.
I think Bundy enjoyed leaving a lot of mystery about just who he killed, how many times he killed & where their remains could be found. It seemed to amuse him knowing that so many questions would remain unanswered after his execution.

Missing 40 years today.

Rita's parents are now deceased, her mother died In 2005, and her father In 2010 at 93. She had three other siblings.

Rita's parents were cremated and their ashes were taken out to the old family camp spot in the Oregon desert. They died never knowing what happened to their youngest child. Her father held out hope that she might still be alive.
