The Gila River Indian Community is a HUGE, sparsely populated, barren piece of land. I'm not ruling out the possibility of a serial killer, but it's not surprising that a number of bodies were found out there over the last ten years or so - the community is 580 square miles, which is about a third the size of Rhode Island, and the population is only 12,000. It's all desert, so anywhere off the beaten path would be an ideal place to dump a body.
