Classification: Involuntary

Vital Statistics

Age at Time of Disappearance: 21 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'0"; 110 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Green eyes; long blonde hair, past shoulder-length, wavy at the ends.
Clothing: long brown coat with black fake-fur trim, bell-bottom jeans and platform shoes. Brown suede pocketbook.
Dentals: Straight and even teeth.

Circumstances of Disappearance

On the evening of Saturday, December 11, 1971, with her parents out of town on a week-long cruise, Liz Lande and two of her girlfriends spent the evening talking and watching television. At around midnight, Liz received a phone call from her boyfriend, Bobby Nauss, a member of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club. Nauss asked Liz to spend the weekend with him.

At about 1:50 am, a neighbor who lived across the street from the Lande residence heard a noise outside. When he looked out of his bedroom window, he saw Liz walk out of the front door to her house, to the sidewalk and get into a waiting gold-colored Toronado.

On July 12, 1977, a friend of Bobby Nauss - turned witness - attempted to lead Law Enforcement to a location in the Pine Barrens where he said he had helped Nauss bury Liz's body. The location was near Williamstown, NJ, about 16 miles southeast of Philadelphia.

The previously heavily wooded area was now occupied by housing subdivisions. The witness tried several times to pinpoint the burial site, and the officers dug up each location, but failed to locate Liz's remains.

On December 9, 1977 Robert Nauss was convicted for the murder of Elizabeth Lande. Her body has never been found.

if she were buried and when those houses were being built wouldnt she would have been found when they were building those houses? IMHO, i think she might have been buried there but was later moved?

Is Nauss still alive? Why won't he say where she is? It won't mean added time for him will it? Is any of her family looking for her body? why did he kill her in teh first place?

Details of Disappearance
Lande was last seen during the early morning hours of December 12, 1971 in the Overbrook Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents were on a cruise vacation at the time. Lande spent the evening of December 11 at home watching television with two female friends.

At approximately midnight, her boyfriend, Robert Thomas "Bobby" Nauss Jr., called Lande and asked her to come visit him for the weekend. Her friends tried to dissuade her from going, as it was late and they disliked Nauss. She decided to see him anyway, however. Her friends left a short time later.

At 1:50 a.m., Lande's across the street neighbor heard a noise outside and looked out his bedroom window. He saw Lande walk out her front door and get into a gold Oldsmobile Toronado that was waiting for her. She has never been heard from again.

One of Nauss's friends later stated he saw Lande's corpse hanging from the rafters of a parking garage behind the friend's apartment building early on December 13. The friend helped Nauss dispose of the body in the Pine Barrens area of New Jersey, near Williamstown, New Jersey and about sixteen miles outside of Philadelphia.

In 1977, Nauss's friend attempted to lead police to the body. He said he it had been buried in a wooded area which was later occupied by a subdivision. Authorities dug at several places, but were unable to recover Lande's remains.

At trial, Nauss admitted Lande was dead, but stated she had taken her own life and he had not harmed her. However, several psychiatrists who testified at the trial did not believe Lande was suicidal at the time of her disappearance, and Nauss's friend testified that he had confessed to killing her.

Nauss was convicted of Lande's murder in 1977 and sentenced to life in prison. He escaped from prison in 1983, and was not located until 1990. While at large, he lived in Michigan under an alias name, married and had two children. Since his apprehension in 1990 he has remained incarcerated.

At the time of her disappearance, Lande was a student at Philadelphia Community College. Her remains have never been located, but foul play is suspected in her case due to the circumstances involved.

At around midnight, Liz received a phone call from her boyfriend, Bobby Nauss, a member of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club. Nauss asked Liz to spend the weekend with him. Concerned about the late hour and Nauss's reputation, Liz's friends tried to talk her out of going - to no avail. The friends left - they never saw Liz alive again.

At about 1:50 am, a neighbor who lived across the street from the Lande residence heard a noise outside. When he looked out of his bedroom window, he saw Liz walk out of the front door to her house, to the sidewalk and get into a waiting gold-colored Toronado.

In the early morning hours of Monday, December 13th, Elizabeth Lande was seen hanging from the rafters in a garage behind the the apartment house of one of Nauss' friends. It was this friend who helped Nauss dispose of Liz's body, allegedly in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey.

On July 12, 1977, almost six years after Liz disappeared, the same friend - turned witness - attempted to lead Law Enforcement to the location in the Pine Barrens where he said he had helped Nauss bury Liz's body. The location was near Williamstown, NJ, about 16 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The previously heavily wooded area was now occupied by housing subdivisions. Oh Dear Lord! We grew up hearing about Liz and the rafters!

Also, we would hear she was in "Billstown" as we called Williamstown. Then came Delores Della Penna. Parts of her body in The Pines found.

Many of the older bikers have died. I can only pray they find this beautiful girls remains. Williamstown has a lot of ground.

Peace to Liz may she have crossed to a better place.

FWIW there's a Instagram titled I think "America's most wanted Warlock". Just Google his name.

It's geared at him being wrongfully convicted. Help free him. I had no idea he had escaped from Graterford at one point.

Delco and bikers? We had the living #### scared out of us back then by our parents of 1% ers.

If he didn't murder this young woman who did?

This December will mark 5o years...
