Christian Schellenschlager has been charged with murder after the man he hit in the head with a baseball bat died two weeks after the attack. The 15 year old murdered Brian Myers aged 49 by hitting him with a bat he went home to retrieve after an argument started.

The 15 year old is being charged as an adult for 1st degree murder. Myer's didn't have any ID on him at the time and his family was finally found and notified the day before he died. Myer's had a warrant out for his arrest for assault at the time of the beating and records indicate he had been arrested 50 some times since 1989. Still doesn't make it O.K. he was beaten in the head.

"It's just sad," said Beverly Smith, Myers' aunt. "These young kids, it's all you're hearing on the news, these brutal attacks."

Those are my thoughts too. :(

Surely there's got to be more to this story. Was the man drunk, belligerent and threatening? Was the boy being a punk? He went straight home and told his mother, so maybe he felt some remorse? I just don't understand kids these days.

"Relatives of Myers said that they have been told that the argument began when Myers encountered a group of kids playing with a wheelchair, and that he told them that it was bad luck."

Maybe Myers was mentally ill as well as an alcoholic?
Did anyone see the movie, "Manic" ? In the movie, the main character was a boy who beat another boy almost to death and was sent to a secure mental facility for teens..

A Glen Burnie teenager convicted of beating a man to death with a baseball bat will be transferred to a Michigan facility... The judge and state officials said Maryland doesn't have the kind of secure facilities needed for juveniles like Schellenschlager...

Schellenschlager will be in Michigan until he's 21 or until Turning Point officials say his rehabilitation is complete.
