here's more - they've been there 2--3 weeks??? No one noticed coming and going for that long? In Laguna Beach, and where I live now in Aliso Viejo, my neighbors would definitely have checked on me...

5 found dead in house in San Clemente
Bodies were in house 2 to 3 weeks, officials say.

The bodies of five family members were found dead today in a home in a gated community here, Sheriff's officials said.

The bodies were believed to have been in the house on Campanilla Street for two to three weeks, said Orange County Acting Sheriff Jack Anderson.

Anderson described the victims as an elderly woman, a man and woman age 40-50, and two women in their early 20s, all related.

He said there is no threat to the community.

Neither homicide nor suicide could immediately be ruled out, he said.

Someone called for a Goodwill check, maybe they didn't live in the area to go over and check in person ???

Sometimes if a car is always parked in the garage neighbors don't know if you're home or not.

It sounds like a man and wife and their two grown children plus one of the parent's mothers may have all lived together. Such a sad thing that LE wasn't notified sooner although it wouldn't have saved the victims.

LE probably have a good idea because of the dates on the mail that had to be stacking up as well as newspapers if they had them delivered.

I wonder if whomever did this and I do think most likely it was a murders suicide.........if they were losing their home or had lost their job or jobs lately.

Just heard on my local TV news, the home is located in Seal Pointe Estates. They said the LE had been there yesterday to make a welfare check on them and no response.

Today, three family members arrived and broke into the home and found the bodies. It was said, but don't know if fact that the young girls may have been twins.

It definitely appears to be a murder/suicide. No names yet have been released pending notification of relatives out of State. Also, no mention on how the victims died.

I didn't even see this TG.My house is on the SC-SJC border I live directly on the other side of the hill from this community. I watched the helicopter for the longest time this afternoon. He was circling over my house for so long, I locked my doors because I thought someone might be on the loose. .
I walk through this neghborhood everyday from the other side of the hill. I have pulled up all the names on the street but I cannot figure out who it is.

Five Family Members Found Shot to Death in San Clemente Home

I have friends who live about 4 miles from this house down near the beach.

The homes in that area are fairly large, and I think the gate to the community is located on Marbella.
The gate is off of Camino De Los Mares. There is a little entry street called Marbella I think. Sea Pointe is a lovely ocean view community. they have had some geo issues and some houses slipping up there over the past few years but overall it is still highly desireable and beautiful. I know many people that live in there.

Interestingly when the helicopter was out there I tried pulling up the call from the sheriff's website but there was nothing. there is still nothing, no record of the call. Then when I pull up the welfare check from the 14th, I can see the call, butthe narrative is blocked so I can't read it. They have pulled all info off the net.I guess til they notify relatives?

This article does say the girls are twins. Also:

Giudice said neither homicide nor suicide could be ruled out, but she stressed that neighborhood residents should not be worried.

"We believe there's nothing for them to be fearful about," she said. "We're not actively looking for a suspect at this time."

I'm not sure I would be reassured by that statement if I were a neighbor.

The police can be so vague at times.

If it is a murder/suicide then it would be no cause for worry in the neighborhood or it they are possibly thinking it is a family member or someone known to them then the neighbors aren't at risk.

Sometimes LE speaks in riddles and I am not sure how much it makes the neighbors feel at ease.

"The family members were last seen two weeks ago, she said. Since then, the Orange County Sheriff's Department had been asked to check on the house. A sheriff's patrol car drove by May 14 and again Saturday, Giudice said. Deputies did not stop because nothing seemed amiss from a visual check of the residence, she said."

I wonder if the relatives asked for a welfare check, if they did, you would think the officer would have went and knocked on the door. They didn't notice the newspapers building up?
As for neighbors; if it wasn't a close knit area, maybe they assumed they were on vacation.

Here is one interesting comment on our local paper website:

I was told about "the meeting" because I was there and a neighbor of mine, (also a resident), said so. They were not "happily" married either and like I said they were either divorced or about to file.

This is a terrible tragedy for our neighborhood and I'm shocked that we didn't notice their absence for such a long time<<

If this is not a murder-suicide or not done by a separate family member,it occurs to me that since this community is guard gated as opposed to gate guarded, there could possibly be a record of who came in over the last few weeks complete with license plate number.

I'm fairly certain as to the names, but hesitate to post them until the Media has done so.

I believe the owner of the residence is Dr. M.U.

Tom's girl, you are correct. He was an accident reconstruction specialist and a former professor at Syracuse U in NY. He had two 21 year old twin daughters. The man also copyrighted several screenplays.

Yes Steve, I learned that but didn't want to offer up anymore info. at this time.

Also, did you see the association to the A. Diamond business?

That is the same name I came up with through house records. I found the address. They have been there since 1988.
