Identified! FL - Pinellas Co., skull found in closet, Jun'08 - prior murder victim

What: Detectives have identified the origins of a human skull found in a St. Petersburg home to be one belonging to 2003 homicide victim, Allen E. Garner. The homicide case was handled by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Where: The skull was discovered in a private residence located at 4550 39th Street North in St. Petersburg.

When: The skull was discovered on June 14, 2008.

How/Why:

Detectives have identified the origins of a human skull that was located in a St. Petersburg home.



The skull was discovered on June 14, 2008 in a private residence located at 4550 39th Street North in St. Petersburg. The resident of that home is identified as 40-year-old Steven Blackwell. According to deputies, an associate of Blackwell’s identified as 34-year-old Glenn Parker, found the skull stored in a box in a closet of the residence; and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office.



Detectives recovered the skull and began their investigation. The skull was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s office for examination.



Blackwell who is being held at the Pinellas County Jail on unrelated charges, told detectives that he had obtained the skull about four or five years ago from a friend, who has not yet been identified.
