montauk monster - what washed ashore?

I saw this in the news last night. This thing is hideous looking. What on earth IS it?

:eek::eek::eek:

Jeff Corwin was on Fox and he said it is a dead racoon or dog that the beak looking thing is actually teeth and it is hairless from decomposing out in the sun but people are still going on about it being a monster.

Isn't that the strangest thing? I was reading an article on AOL news about it. They have a comments section on the bottom and someone wrote "its a turtle that is a victim of the economy. He lost his shell in a foreclosure" (or something like that). I thought that was a hoot!

It does look like a turtle without the shell. A dog or racoon is just not what it looks like, I have seen a dead dog beforend that face looks nothing like it.

Maybe it crawled through Montauk's time machine into present day.:waitasec:

One thing is for sure I would not be swimming there !:eek:

I agree about the raccoon now. The overlayed images help with that assumption.

Thanks. I kept thinking "how could that be a raccoon?". Your comparison helped a lot. I was also wondering how Jeff Corwin could be wrong. I guess he isn't.

I don't see how it could be a raccoon OR a dog, but I guess JC would know.
It looks disgusting. Can you imagine how it SMELLED? :sick:

The smell? That is totally disgusting! I choked on my coffee just reading that.

TaylorJC4, I agree - I think it is chupacabra!!

Yea, I'm going with dead raccoon. I thought dog at first, but the paws are wrong.

Looks like a hybrid of a wild boar and huge raccoon. I think it's male...
