Hec Grant went to retrieve a DVD player from a friend's house in eastern Saline County on Jan. 13, 2007. He called his wife, Autumn Romine, about 9:45 p.m. that night to say that everything was fine and he would be home as soon as the rain let up.
The family hasn't heard from him since.

Authorities report that they have searched every business possible, every river bottom, every nook and cranny in every section of woods they can find, but still he has not been found. The Grant family and law-enforcement officers have also been fielding numerous telephone calls with tips to help find him and/or to find the persons responsible for Grants disappearance.
Six months ago, when Grant was supposed to turn 28, the family held a candlelight vigil to make the community aware of his disappearance and help raise support to find him. Although, the family works tirelessly and countless hours searching for Grant, they are not giving up and neither is the Saline County Sheriffs Department.
We are following every lead we get, Frost said. We still field calls and we still stay in contact with the family. In fact, I just talked to Debbie Grant (mother of Hec Grant) and we are all still very active in pursuing this case.
