Caylee and her mother lived with George and Cindy Anthony. The grandparents have returned home after spending time in a hotel while investigators searched their house for evidence late last week. Their attorney said that items were taken from their home which was not on a search warrant.

Crime scene technicians and detectives on Monday continued to search the woods near the Anthony home, where the skull was found last week by a meter reader. Capt. Angelo Nieves, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said he couldn't confirm reports that more bones had been found in the area over the weekend.

Five long days -- and yet the work has just begun.

Sheriff's officials said Monday that the lot, a quarter-mile from the home of the child's grandparents, could remain a crime scene for several more days as the evidence crews and various experts, including an anthropologist, an entomologist and a botanist, search methodically for more clues.

The crime scene was quiet early Tuesday morning, but investigators were expected to return for a sixth day to search for clues that could lead them to a killer.

The FBI has taken DNA samples and fingerprints from George, Cindy and Lee Anthony. Family attorney Brad Conway said that's to exclude them from investigation.

Conway said the Anthonys continue to support their daughter.

Conway said he hasn't taken any money for the case.

"There are lawyers out there who do things for the right reasons, and I'm one of them," Conway said.

Conway replaced high-profile local attorney Mark NeJame, who said he quit because the Anthonys didn't always heed his advice.

DNA Testing Could Take Weeks

Weinblatt said that because the remains were found in an area that had been underwater, they are better preserved, making it easier to get tissue and DNA evidence.

"What they have to do is set up the DNA, and they're going by markers. Kind of like comparing fingerprints, but it's genetic fingerprints. They have to put it together. Now, the less material they have, the less comparison points they have to go by," Weinblatt said.

Weinblatt said the FBI will probably run these DNA test several times to make sure they have a positive identification.

'Significant Finds' Made In Woods During Search Near Caylee Home
Utility Worker Finds Skull, Human Remains

"There have been significant finds there at the location," Nieves said. "We're not providing additional information as to what evidence has been recovered."

Several experts also were being called in to examine the site over the next few days, including a botanist, a forensic anthropologist and an entomologist, or expert on insects, Nieves said.

Conway said the grandparents were not being investigated for any crimes, such as obstruction of justice. George and Cindy Anthony have been fingerprinted by investigators but only to rule them out as suspects. They are cooperating with detectives, he said.

Captain Angelo Nieves of the Orange County Sheriff's Office says investigators will take as long as necessary to complete their search. "The reason we stay here so long, is again, they're doing a meticulous job out there, they're going very slowly, very methodically, in order to make a determination and look at all of the items that are there," Nieves said.

"If there's something that needs attention, they will continue to provide attention to that again, the site will dictate how long they will be here, not the investigators," he added.

The defense has also asked for a second autopsy on the skull found among the remains.

Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's attorney, also said he wants it ordered that forensic evidence in the case be preserved.

Baez said he wants his own experts to examine the remains, and fears the FBI could destroy that evidence after the remains are identified.
