Mother's boyfriend faces additional charges in Millville after 3-month-old receives critical head injuries

...Kevin Riexinger, 22, of North 2nd Street, was charged with an additional count of aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a weapon for allegedly striking the infant on the head with an unspecified object, police said....

......According to Millville Lt. Ed Zadroga, Riexinger allegedly assaulted the child after he returned home from the hospital where his girlfriend was being treated.

"He beat his girlfriend, and brought her to the hospital with the child," said Zadroga. "He raises a scene at the hospital and leaves to go back home with the child, who was uninjured at this point.".......

........The child underwent brain surgery on Wednesday and remained in critical condition at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as of Friday afternoon............

Kevin Riexinger, 22, was arrested Dec. 22 and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, relating to the assault on his 19-year-old girlfriend, later being charged with an additional two counts of aggravated assault for the assault on the child.
