PA - Shawn Yeager, 39, dies in 'hunting accident', Warren County, 5 Dec 2008

"A woman already charged with conspiring with her brother to have her estranged husband shot in a "hunting accident" near the Allegheny National Forest has been charged with first-degree homicide along with an alleged getaway driver. Susan Yeager, 33, of Tionesta, and the driver, Robert A. Pessia, 26, of Warren, already were charged with conspiracy in connection with the death of Shawn Yeager, 39, on Dec. 5 at Mr. Yeager's house in Limestone just outside the national forest."

"State police say they were called after Shawn Yeager's sons, 12 and 15, found him shot on the rear deck of his home near the Allegheny National Forest in Warren County on Dec. 5.
Police say Altman shot Shawn Yeager with a hunting rifle then joked that he "got his buck for the year."

"TIDIOUTE, Pa. -- The wife of a man killed in what Warren County police are calling a cold-blooded murder plot is facing first-degree murder charges.State police said Susan Yeager, 33, wanted her husband, Shawn Yeager, 39, dead and had been talking about killing for years."

Now this gets my ire up. To let your children find their own father....words escape me at this moment.

Why do these people think that the way to get out of an unhappy marriage is to kill your spouse.

She had been talking about killing him for years, then allows her son's to find their Father shot.

What is wrong with these people that they think that their husband or wife is "just something" to get rid of.

If the wife had been talking about killing her husband for years then he must have heard about it from someone. I wonder if he thought she was serious?
I wonder if those were her boys. I don't think I read how long they had been married. Wonder what her motive was anyway?

She deserves every single year that she is going to get.

    From June 2009:

Cory Altman and Susan Yeager will not be getting out of prison. Morgan sentenced the brother and sister to life in prison without the possibility of parole for their roles in the December 2008 slaying of Yeager’s husband, Shawn.

During a four-day trial in May, Yeager was found guilty of first degree murder for planning her estranged husband’s death. Altman was found guilty of first degree murder for carrying out that plan and shooting Shawn Yeager in the back and leaving his body to be found by his two teenage sons.
    From August 2009:

Robert Pessia didn't kill anyone, but he knew what was going on when he drove Cory Altman, with a borrowed rifle, to a point near Shawn Yeager's home, and picked him up an hour later at a point on the other side of the house.

That is what Judge William Morgan said when he sentenced Pessia to 42 months to 10 years in state prison for his role in Yeager's murder...

Although he was originally charged as an accessory to the murder, Pessia's willingness to testify got him a deal from the district attorney's office. As a result of that deal, Pessia pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.
