Pregnant Woman Evicted From Home

Two San Diego County sheriff's deputies escorted the pregnant woman out of her Poway home. It didn't matter that she had no car to drive and nowhere to go. It didn't matter that her baby was due the next day. The uniformed men had no choice, the North County Times reported

This is very heart breaking, but its the reality of what is going on in the world. I feel so bad for this woman, where is she gonna go,what is she gonna do? Sadly this is just the beginning. I hope and pray everything gets under control before we have another severe depression on our hands.
 
I wonder was she renting from someone who owned the home and that person was foreclosed on, and didn't give her any advance warning?

Or was this home her own home and she was foreclosed on? In my mind there is a difference.

The difference being that if she was renting and the landlord didn't tell her then I am so sorry that she is out on the streets with a small child and pregnant too.

But if that's her own home she has had a lot of time to get things in order. Even if it meant going to a shelter, which is a horrible choice I agree, but what is her personal accountablity in her financial situation is all I'm asking?

Before I sound too harsh, I just think that any woman if given enough warning of a foreclosure would have moved heaven and earth to find a home for that child she does have and the one on the way. IMHO.
 
I want to know what bank was holding the mortgage. Most of the major banks have promised no evictions until Obama signs the bailout package and there are supposed to be programs already in place for folks who are behind.

I have seen at least one bank that did not give 2 hoots about the homeowner. It was pretty disgusting, really. Had a new buyer lined up and everything and the bank wouldn't negotiate.

she didnt have a car....shes 9 months pregnant....I bet she had no job and no car...and no father or husband was mentioned...she probably didnt have any resources to go ANYWHERE! Possibly had no idea what to do or where to turn....I hope the officers at least took her to a shelter or to a family members house if she had any family....I cant imagine what this woman was going thru!
 
Not only pregnant, but had a child with her... how horrible not only for the mother and baby she was carrying, but also the child. :( That is heartbreaking...

Here is a longer version of the story. It looks like she is married but her husband was at work and couldn't leave. She was able to get a friend to come pick her up but she didn't have anything packed and had to just grab a few things and go. What a sad story, I hope things work out for them:(

What exactly happens when houses are foreclosed, I just realized I don't have any idea- will the bank allow people to go back in and retrieve their belongings at some point?
 
Exactly how long does it take for the bank to foreclose on a mortgage? I wonder how long the bank gives you to evacuate the premises? How much advance warning?

Yes it's sad and it's happening all over the country every day now. I just also think there is a certain amount of personal accountability that should be considered before I bestow my sympathies upon someone that gets kicked out of a house they weren't paying for?
 
Oh wait I saw this lady on the news. Her Husband was hot IIRC. Had major attitude about being put out of the house he hadn't been paying on. Just saying. Sorry I don't have a link. I saw it on national news though I'm pretty sure.

I looked at the date on the article it was dated 07 FEB, I'm thinking I saw it on TV around that time period. It was definately national news not cable.
 
A good friend of mine had his house foreclosed. This doesn't just happen overnight. He hadn't paid his mortgage for over 6 months was served a notice with 3 month to vacate. And on moving day - the sheriff showed up with movers who packed everything and put it in a storage unit for him. Now I am sure the fee for the movers will be added to his bill but my point is - although I do feel bad for anyone who loses their home. I do have to realize that this woman knew this was coming and I don't believe it was right of her to put those sheriff deputies in the position she did.

Everyone is talking about how they should have more sympathy - but they were really just doing their job. I don't know her personal financial story to know how she and her husband got to the point of foreclosure -but they didn't get there overnight.
