Police: Foul play suspected in woman's disappearance

Police now suspect foul play in the disappearance of Sara Martinez, who was last seen March 9 at Club Guadalajara.

DNA testing has confirmed that human remains discovered in the Avalon subdivision of Franklin last week are those of Sara Martinez, who was murdered in Nashville more than five years ago...

Nashville police identified a suspected killer and issued an arrest warrant in August 2009. That man, Jose Morano, 32, of Honduras, initially fled back to his native country — leaving his belongings behind — authorities said.

But he was arrested on July 11, 2011, in Clinton, N.C., and later charged with Martinez’s killing. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was deported.
