Troopers with the Michigan State Police Brighton Post are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 50-year-old Wixom woman.

Police say Kelly Marie Durberg was last seen on May 22 in Plymouth and they are investigating “suspicious circumstances surrounding” her disappearance.

They say they found her vehicle and it is unknown how she may be traveling.

She is a white female, about 5 feet 6 inches and weighs about 135 pounds.

She has green eyes and red hair.

Police say Durberg has not responded to repeated attempts to contact her by telephone.

Police did not release details.

Howell man arrested in death of missing Wixom woman

A 49-year-old Howell man is being held in the Livingston County Jail in connection with the disappearance of a 50-year-old Wixom, Michigan State Police said on Sunday.

The man faces arraignment on Monday or Tuesday in Oakland County, said Det. Sgt. Greg Poulson. Prosecutors will decide what charges the man will face.

Authorities have been looking into the disappearance of Kelly Marie Durberg, 50, of Wixom, since late May and they found a body of a woman in a shallow grave in northern Michigan on Friday. However, they have not said that the body is that of Durberg.

The suspect, who was the alleged boyfriend of the victim, was arrested in Detroit on Saturday and taken to the Livingston County Jail.

This one really hits home for me - considering I live about 5 minutes from where she went missing - and have vacation property about 10 minutes from where they located her body.......

Boyfriend charged with murder of Wixom woman

The 49-year-old boyfriend of a Wixom woman whose body was found in a shallow grave in northern Michigan was charged with first-degree murder in her death.

Novi 52nd District Court Judge Robert Bondy charged Joseph Damian Susalla of Howell with the offense and entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Susalla is incarcerated at the Oakland County Jail without bond, pending a pretrial conference scheduled for next Tuesday.

Susalla was on probation for domestic violence, third offense, in a March 2007conviction in Oakland County. He has served jail and prison sentences for convictions of a 1996 Oakland County embezzlement case, 1989 incident of malicious destruction of property in Livingston County and a felonious assault that occurred in 1979 in Wayne County.
