Guido Brinkman was a Holocaust survivor. It sounds like he was a very active 89 year old. He lived in a doorman building and visitors have to check in at the front desk when they enter the apt. building. He was found in his bed, hands bound with massive head trauma. His apartment had been ransacked but that could have been staged. His car is also missing.

My gut feeling on this is it will not be long before cops arrest someone.

oh my goodness how horrible! i'd like to think that this was random, but...doesn't look that way :( hope they know more soon. Thank you for the article. Terrible, Just terrible...

Truly horrible story. It sounds to me as if this is an "inside job" i.e. an employee of the building. I can't see a visitor who is announced by the doorman and caught on camera being so stupid as to think they can get away with it. IMO a building employee is the most likely suspect.

When I read about stories that are so heinous such as this one, it make me hope that Hell is a very real place and that someone who could visciously beat a defenseless 89 year old man to death will have his own little private area there.:behindbar

I just saw an update to this story on the 6 o'clock Channel 7 News. Police found Mr. Brinkman's car abandoned in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. The doorman saw a man and a woman who visited Mr. Brinkman Wednesday night drive away in the car. A doorman in the building told police that Brinkman had a habit of having young women visitors to his apartment for sexual purposes. What kind of building security is this? Because of his advanced age, would it have been too much trouble for the doorman to intercom Brinkman to see if everything was okay.

That certainly didn't take long. I hope they get the guy soon.

what in the world, though. really, take the mans car after he's killed and to do so in front of an employee (doorman) ?? that's crazy!

It sounds like these two are real bright.....they steal his car in front of an employee and then leave it abandoned in the Bronx close to where they live. It does not say how this 30 yr old woman knew Mr. Brinkman.

It looks like this story has been dropped forever. Was the man ever caught? Just who was the woman that was arrested? Was she the housekeeper? Was she a prostitute? Anyone hear any updates on this story?

I just heard on the 5 o'clock news that two brothers were arrested in the murder of Mr. Brinkman. Maybe the woman arrested last week talked.

From June 2012:

A Bronx man convicted of strangling a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor to death during a home invasion robbery was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years to life in prison.

Earlier this month, a jury found Aljulah Cutts, 30, guilty of murdering Felix Brinkmann in July 2009 in Brinkmann's Upper East Side apartment.

According to New York DOC, Angela Murray was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for second degree murder, and Hasib Cutts is serving 15 years for robbery:
