Worcester County detectives continue to search for woman who went missing from a Pocomoke couple's home last month.

"We continue to get calls and information," said Sgt. Tim Keen of the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation on Friday. "We're trying everything we can to track her down."

Sheddy, 26, was last seen Nov. 13 in the area of Byrd Road in Pocomoke City. Sheddy and her two sons, ages 2 and 4, were staying with her mother, Lynn Dodenhoff at her Bowers Beach home before traveling to Pocomoke City. Sheddy told her mother she was visiting a couple she met through her boyfriend, who is also the father of her children.
Sheddy stayed behind with her two sons when the Pocomoke couple left their home to pick up their children from school.

When they returned, Sheddy was gone and her boys were home alone, said Dodenhoff, 50.

Detective Robert Trautman of the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation, said they expanded their search to Delaware and Virginia in November.

Sheddy's two boys were staying with their father, Trautman said in earlier reports.
Even though police don't suspect any foul play, Keen said "we're looking into everything."

Mother continues search for missing daughter

yearlong investigation continues into the whereabouts of Christine Sheddy, the 27-year-old Delaware woman who disappeared from a Pocomoke City farmhouse in November 2007, leaving behind her children and plenty of questions about what happened at the rural Byrd Road residence.

Citizen-led search for missing woman this weekend

More than a year ago, Christine Sheddy disappeared from a Byrd Road farm house and has not been heard from since.

Family and friends of the then 27-year-old Dela-ware woman, and local residents, plan to search the area around where she was last seen this weekend in hopes of finding clues to explain what happened.

Lynn Dodenhoff, Shed-dy's mother, said she expects at least 50 people to participate in what she says is the first large-scale comprehensive search of the area.

The search for Christine Sheddy in Pocomoke yesterday was an outstanding success. Almost 150 people participated in the search organized by Flatland Search & Rescue of Accomack, VA. People from the Community, Maryland, and Virginia came together for this event. A group from the Civil Air Partrol, local Fire EMS and off-duty and retired LE professionals shared their time and experience to the many groups that were formed. The Walmart in Pocomoke donated enough food to feed an army and several of their management team and staff participated. It was a wonderful demonstration of generosity and commitment to find this missing young woman and support for her family.

Although we did not meet our primary objective of finding Christine's remains, the search raised public awareness and the search efforts will continue until she is found. Following the search, information has been received that may lead to the recovery of remains. I am hopeful that this will occur very soon and the people responsible for her disappearance will finally be held accountable.

POI's in this case scattered when news broke that a search of this magnitude was taking place. We know where they went and where they are now. We have a definite search location now and will be going in with probes and excavation equipment very soon. Will post update as appropriate.

Christine Marie Sheddy, a 27 year old mother of three disappeared from a small farm house in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on November 13th 2007. The last two people who allegedly saw Christine were a couple by the name of Clarence "Butch" Jackson Jr. and his girlfriend Tia Johnson. The couple allege that they left their home on the 13th of November to pick their children up from a local school. When they returned approximately two hours Christine was gone. Curiously enough Christine's two young children were still there. Even more curiously all of her possessions were still there. These facts by themselves may not really be all that staggering, just a mother that had enough and ran away. And that is exactly what she would have had to do run. Christine did not have a car. Now, if you are reading this in a major metropolis or even a major suburban area you might say "she took a bus, maybe a cab". Remember I said a "small" town, and I do mean small town, public transportation is almost zero. I suppose Christine must have conspired with someone else to pick her up, drive her away to a new life leaving her two young children to fend for themselves with two people she barely even knew. Or...maybe we do not know everything there is to know about this.
I suppose I have to question the events of that day. If you were the last person to see another human being and you claim to want to help find that person, would you refuse to take a polygraph test? No, me either I would want to help law enforcement exclude me as a person of interest as fast as I possibly could. So why would the couple who, by their own statements, were the last people to see Christine alive, refuse to take a polygraph? Could it be they have something to hide? How about this, if you were an investigator and you were at the scene of the last place a missing person was seen would you check the criminal records of the last people to see her? How about the estranged father of the children? Why would you accept the word of the mother of the estranged boyfriend as gospel? Wouldn't that be a bit of a conflict of interest? I mean traditionally the boyfriend would be the number one suspect, wouldn't his mother attempt to form an alibi for her son? Why wouldn't he take a polygraph test? It is his sons mother we are talking about, right? All of these questions and many more seem reasonable and logical but at the beginning of this none of these seemingly logical questions were asked and because of this we are no closer to finding Christine or more realistically her remains than we were that day.

I just heard about this case from another site. I'm glad that it is getting some attention. I hope the family gets some closure soon.
