A 31-year-old Yale School of Medicine psychiatry resident said to have called himself the “Savior of Death” is disputing a police search of his home on Sunday in which the authorities seized about a dozen weapons, including two sniper rifles and two 12-gauge shotguns.
Without a warrant, NHPD officers searched the apartment of Robert Remington on Sunday night after arresting him at Dolci Piano Lounge at 932 State St earlier that night. Once police received counsel from the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office to search Remington’s home, they seized the weapons and charged Remington with two counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon, the police report said.

wow, the NPHD is busy. But I guess this sort of stuff goes on in many towns...

My baby brother graduated from Yale in the late '70's and was a member of the Whiffenpoofs. I was so proud of him. My favorite song in their repertoire was 'Home Cookin', which always brought the house down.
The tables down at Morey's set the congeniality of their group. It closed late last year and is being completely remodled to draw in more of an undergraduate crowd. It will most likely be a great day of celebration upon opening, and Wiffenpoofs will come from everywhere to sing together again.

Animal Lab Tech Reported Missing

A new missing persons case has hit the Yale animal testing laboratory on Amistad Street.
Supervisors at the lab Thursday asked employees for information about where lab tech John DiNello hangs out, and with whom.
They reported that DiNello has not shown up for work for four days. And he has apparently been reported missing from home for some 60 hours, according to an initial report.
DiNello was described as a “floater” who works in various labs — including the labs at 10 Amistad St. where another lab technician has been accused of killing and storing the body of medical student Annie Le.
Yale Chief Communications Officer Tom Mattia said university officials are preparing Thursday night to send out a message to “workers in the field” seeking info on DiNello’s whereabouts.
“We’re aware that there’s a missing persons report,” Mattia said. “We’re cooperating with the West Haven police on that.”
Anyone with helpful information is asked to call the West Haven police department at (203) 937-3700.
A woman answering the phone at the West Haven home listed on voting records as DiNello’s declined to comment and hung up the phone Thursday evening.
There is no information at this point to suggest that the incident has anything to do with the Annie Le case.

It would be interesting to know if he was working the day Annie disappeared.

The New Haven police have already said that he was not connected to the case, so one would assume that he has already been cleared.
There is no indication that he worked that day in the Amistad Street building, much less in the basement, much less in G22, where Annie Le was attacked. He was not mentioned in the arrest warrant as one of the four people who entered the room after Annie that day.
He wasn't an animal technician in Annie Le's lab. Nor is there any indication that he was replacing anyone that day.
One would imagine that a weird-looking 280-pound stranger who seems to have problems would have slipped through the cracks that day or during the investigation.
