The murderer of Liverpool schoolboy Rhys Jones has been placed in solitary confinement after stabbing another inmate at a young offenders' institute...

Mercer, who is serving a life sentence for gunning down schoolboy Rhys in Croxteth two years ago, had held the weapon together with tape whilst a fellow inmate held down Fahri, leaving the 19-year-old covered in blood and requiring hospital treatment.
