I don't know how to carry a post over, but the obit from BL's wife listed Byron as an "L".
Now he apparently goes by "C".

Wow, you know what? I just watched Byron's NG interview again. He said he was 10 when his mother died. Her & BL had only been married 7 years according to the newspaper stories. Maybe he was a Coleman all the time & just went by Lockhart after they married???? Not so sure anymore now. HMM

A lighter story for a change....

TROOPER HAT
Eastern NC - 11/22/2009
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)- A 22-year-old North Carolina state trooper who said he was fired because he lied about the fate of his $45 hat is fighting his dismissal. Thomas Wetherington told The News & Observer of Raleigh that losing his job in a misunderstanding about his hat is especially galling considering some troopers who had sex in their patrol cars have stayed on the force. Wetherington lost his hat during a March traffic stop in Craven County. He first said he was wearing it when it blew off and was run over. But the hat turned up undamaged weeks later and Wetherington admitted he had put it on his car before he lost it. A review committee says Wetherington should be reinstated, but the Highway Patrol hasn't hired him back. A patrol spokesman wouldn't talk about the situation.

If BL is demonized as a parent who did not care for his child or one who thoughtlessly and/or knowingly threw her to the wolves, then he is not like us and what happened to him cannot happen to us. I understand this but I feel sorry that it is happening.

I'm sure it's not your intent, but I think that comment really sells most parents short. While I feel absolutely heartsick for BL and his sister, I can say with certainty that my children would never be in this situation. Custody would not be obtained without a drag-out fight and I'd never drop a child of mine into a situation like that. If that sounds holier than thou or something, I apologize, but I just know that. I could not live in relative luxury with security systems and a pretty house in a decent neighborhood and know that the love/loves of my life are living in a less than savory area with felons around, men I don't know, etc. You cannot tell me that BL didn't know that AD had issues and just the mere possibility of issues would keep my children away.

That doesn't mean that something couldn't happen to my kids. God forbid. I just don't think it's fair to chalk up any post that hints that BL might not have been 'father of the year' to poster denial. I think anyone who frequents this board knows exactly the horror that some kids face, and exactly how myriad the reasons are for which they face them. I don't believe that BL is 'everyman.' I think he made decisions that increased the odds.

That doesn't make him guilty, but I think he should feel some guilt. I know I would. And I pray one day that he'll be able to come to terms and find forgiveness and solace within himself, because I know this must be unimaginable pain. My heart truly breaks for him. And meanwhile, if it helps one parent make better decisions, then his role in all this might have some good come out of it after all.

If we start to do the math on all the children's ages and review all the names we may come up with :waitasec:
One child per woman. One wife who became mother to 3 of them :waitasec: But many live with a partner
for many years before they get married.

Like I said there is little we know for sure. and more that we do not know.

I just listened to Levi's show on BNN and the talking heads there said they don't think AD will be charged with murder. They don't think it is RIGHT, but they said there aren't laws currently in place for such a charge.

My hope is that if they are correct, these laws will be changed BECAUSE of what happened to Shaniya!

This just burns me up!

Well Bless His Heart, and he did not even get any sugar!

(bbm) Agree w bold. That's not to say that even when the most strict precautions have been utilized by parents, that it was any failproof guarantee children were 100% safe--but at least if, God forbid, something ever did, you could forgive yourself knowing you'd taken every step, that every safeguard and reasonable measure w/in your power was employed to prevent that.

It's also generally easier to become an agent for change when we're humble enough to admit where we've failed or been remiss. One thing's certain tho, God didn't do this. He uses and relies upon parents, and caregivers, to protect children. It may be too late in the case of this parent whose other children are nearly grown (and the other whose children--even the unborn child--will likely be grown before she's released). But I too should hope it might have some impact on the adults and parents w/in this circle as well as this community--and people everywhere. You don't have to be a parent to notice children who appear at risk of neglect. JMO

I am still watching funeral.. what a service .. and the music is great.. One comment ............did the tv station send their intern out to do video????/// Good grief.

The trafficking charge and the prostitution charge are just the beginning..
what was it 200 and some months or close to that, thats about 12 to 15 years...on that one charge..the others will be coming soon felony murder because of her death resulting during a criminal act(the child prostitution)
BD,CC better find a "rock" to crawl under!!!

Off the wall comment on any DNA testing here. But I wish them well determining, and hope they don't have as much trouble sorting it all out as we are.

I am interested in following up on the clothes found in MAM's Mitsubichi Galante... and whether his own child eg might be in the approx age range (24 mo pants, size 4 jacket IIRC).

For those who are good at digging up records, is there a way to get just child's birth year eg?

I hope if this is correct and if AD has done this before, they will find it out and charge her with however many counts of child trafficking/prostitution they can and her sentences run consecutively :twocents:

In the WRAL showing of the funeral, they show another camera, above the people seated. Who was taping that one? Anyone know? It is during the last song, I believe, only time they showed it. They would have had much better coverage/pictures.

Selling children?
Prostituting children?

Endangering Childrent?
