This one is somewhat of a long-shot because there isn't a whole lot of info in the Doe Network profile, but I decided to submit it anyway.

Attn: Washoe County Medical Examiner - Coroner's Office

I was browsing the Doe Network and came across Hot Case 724 (Washoe County Coroner Case 0602-90). Although there is very little information on this UID profile, I did note that the decedent was a female approximately 5’5” tall, and was approximately 50 – 60 years old (See Link).

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/996ufnv.html

Going through the Charley Project website for missing persons, I came across the profile for Annette A. Hill, who was reported missing on May 12, 1989 from Sandy Utah, which is approximately 135 miles east of the location where the remains were found (See Link).

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hill_annette.html

This profile indicates that Ms. Hill was 5’5” tall, and was last seen approximately 13 months prior to the discovery of these skeletal remains. Also, the circumstances of Ms. Hill’s disappearance suggest that she was murdered and her body disposed of. The primary suspect in this case is a male who lives in the same area. It would seem that highway 80 would be a logical route for someone to transport a murder victim from Sandy, Utah because it is the most desolate exit route from the Salt Lake City area.

I know that Ms. Hill was somewhat younger than the estimated age of the skeletal remains, but as I understand it, estimates of age under these circumstances are not always precise.

If you have not already eliminated Annette A. Hill as a possible match, I ask that you look into this.

I never received a reply to my e-mail to the Washoe County Medical Examiner on this case. So I called the Sandy, UT Police Dept.

The detective took my information, and said that based on his info, he didn't think that Annette Hill's body was transported by a vehicle. I am not sure what he meant by that, but maybe they have info that she was disposed of locally (e.g., dumped in a trash dumpster).

But he said that he would look into it anyway. The enthusiasm meter barely budged on this guy! He didn't take my phone number, so I will have no way of getting any results unless I call him back.

The UID's Namus page contains more information than the Doe page. There is info about clothing and dentals.

I was reading the physical description of this woman on the NamUs site and couldn't help but notice that her hair is described as "Bleached straw color, approximately 9" in length. Some sections without bleach is red-brown in color." This seems somewhat unusual for a woman described as between 50 and 59 -- I would think that if someone is around that age you would notable gray in the hair that was not color treated?

not sure about this one Carl.

Donjeta's Namus link shows the UID with many antemortem upper teeth missing and from all appearances Annette Hill had her teeth in the smiling photos.

It would not be unusual to bleach or color only the sections that were graying, or to color the whole head then have streaking applied. And while it's uncommon, there are women in their fifties who have very little gray.

This was one of the first cases that I had called in.

I had concluded quite a while ago that this one was a "probably not".

Exclusions as of 10 August 2014 per Namus https://identifyus.org/cases/7519

The following people have been ruled out as being this decedent:

First Name Last Name Year of Birth State LKA

Rosemary Calandriello 1952 New Jersey
Christine Eastin 1952 California
Jamie Grissim 1955 Washington
Denise Sheehy 1954 New York
Rochelle White 1951 California
Billie Willard 1941 North Carolina

Playing off Shin's post - I assume the clothing size is 18 Tall.... at 5'5", one would need to have very long legs in proportion to their torso to wear that size - assuming the clothing was a good fit. The UID could have worn very baggy clothes, or been dressed after death in something that didn't fit well, or been homeless. And, that last is just a thought that comes along when you add the "tattered underpants". Although her socks seem to match her pantsuit. Hmmm...

I'm 5'4" and used to wear size 18 women's. Generally the Tall sizes would be too long for my short little legs -- except in knit pants, tights, and that sort of thing. Knits generally stretch two ways, and if they stretch width-wise, the length shrinks. So tall pants pulled over fat thighs can stretch to a pretty good fit, depending on the material and the cut.

Another reason for a tall size would be if she normally wore higher heels with them.

Or she might have had the pants shortened, or done it herself.

It sounds to me like the kind of outfit a fifty-something woman in 1990 would have worn for something like a bus trip to a casino. I can picture my grandmother dressed that way.

Ada Groomes, 54 missing Oct '88 has bleached hair and at 5'7" and 150 lbs should she be considered?

She would be far from home and the circumstances suggest that her husband may have killed her. However, I think it's interesting that he had her RV disposed of all the way in Florida. Almost makes you wonder if he might actually have taken her body to Nevada--especially with his story that she ran away to Arizona with a cult!

To me, she is dressed for a Casino. Purple pantsuit and suede purple boots.

Doe Network Case File: 996UFNV
Additional Personal Items: Cigarettes and matches. $200 in 20s.

I live in Kentucky. There aren't many casinos around here due to "religious" (therefore EXTREMELY political) reasons. The only such things around here that I've actually been to are on boats in the Ohio River, which serves as a state border through much of its length. Since the states can't decide who the river itself "belongs" to, it's allowed there. The states on either side don't "want" casinos due to how it would P/O the religious folk that come out on election day.
Such voters will (very often) patronize "the boats" despite their NIMBY attitude at the polls.

Sorry for bringing up politics, but that's what we've all been drowning in for the past few months (years? decades? centuries?). I just hope all of that crap just shuts up for a while, and soon. There are much more important things in life.

Anyway...
That does sound like what a person would wear to "the boat" and what they'd bring with them, from my personal experience. I'd guess that it would be the same in a more casino-friendly place like Nevada.

Not sure about this but decided I'd throw it in anyway

Marie Lopez went missing in California in January of 1989. She had a Timex watch and had red/brown hair (I think I read that the UP did too before it was dyed).

I've submitted it as a precautionary but since it's my first submission, I thought I'd run it past those who knew what they were doing! :dunno:

However, both have submissions in NAMUS so that might have been an automatic rule out, also they are both operated by the same regional manager so I might just be clutching at straws here!
