American Airlines flight 331 crashes in Jamaica

Thankfully the above article gives hope that everyone survived... the flight originated from here in Washington, DC (guess it had a stop-over in Miami before heading to Jamaica)

What a whole lot of lucky people.

Very bad weather apparently. Seems it landed and didn't stop before it ran out of pavement - this is called "overrunning the runway".

Weather reports - just saving them here, they need to be translated to English:

I don't know how many of you have landed at this airport but it is very frightening to do so. The runway is very short and it dead ends just feet from the water. I have landed there twice and once the plane actually bounced off the runway during the landing and almost lost control and nearly did not stop in time to not run off in the water. I nearly kissed the ground when I exited the plane.
