Author J.D Salinger dies at age 91

sure seems like we're losing so many lately ...
 
Rest in peace, dear creator of Holden Caulfield. I'm going to re-read The Catcher in the Rye in his honour.

He wrote while in seclusion and I've always wondered if they would publish what he wrote posthumously. I'm sure he'd hate it if it were to be published, but I hope that someone does.
 
"A Perfect Day for Bananafish" is one of the ten best short stories I've ever read.
 
I agree, J. D was one of the best. I did think he was dead already too though.

If only required high school reading contained more books like this, I might have read more. As it was, Cliff Notes was #2 on my list of favor high school books.....
