Back in November, a little boy was taken to the hospital unconscious. He was flown out of town where he later died. The mother's bf was picked up on other charges (the next day IIRC), then charged with murder in January. Twice since, this mother has been charged with communicating with him. WTF!

Rumour has it...(and this is ONLY rumour as I don't know these people) is that the mother was engaged to this , and that she is pregnant with his child.

If this had been my Son, the only communicating with him on my part would be a baseball bat communicating with his head. :furious:

Male and female charged in relation to breach of court order

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - Sault Ste. Marie Police Service (SSMPS) in conjunction with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have laid additional charges in relation to a breach in court orders in the Aiden Floyd-Lapinskas homicide investigation.

On January 12, 2010, the SSPMPS arrested James Purcell, age 30, of Sault Ste. Marie with one count of second degree murder in relation to the death of three-year-old Aiden Floyd-Lapinskas.

On January 13, 2010, Purcell appeared in Sault Ste. Marie Provincial Court where a non-communication order was imposed on him not to communicate with witnesses.

Police received further information that between January 13, 2010, and February 6, 2010, the accused breached his non-communication order when he communicated with Lydia Lapinskas approximately 380 times while he was in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre

great mom:banghead:

Ya know, I can't help but to wonder why the detention center allowed him to continue contacting her.. why did they allow her to contact him (I'm assuming through the mail because here you can't call prisoners on the phone.. so visiting or mail would be the only ways to contact him)? I mean, that's a LOT of contact... I can't imagine why they let it continue so long and so often before finally doing something.

This is unbelieveable............another so called momster that loves the guy more than her child.........................we nee the death penalty back for child murderers

i wasnt aware the dp was eliminated for child murderers

Sadly, I'll be surprised if this loser even gets 10 years here.

A Sault Ste. Marie man pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter in connection with the death of his girlfriend's son nearly two years ago...

Purcell, 31, was sentenced to four years in a federal penitentiary. With the 42-month credit he received for the time he has spent in custody since his arrest, the sentence is the equivalent of seven and a half years.

The sentence, imposed by Ontario Court Justice Andrew Buttazzoni, was part of a plea bargain worked out by the Crown and defence.

Not much value attached to this little boys life imo. Article from 24 Aug 2011 - one day following the article in post #6.

It was noted in the 11-page agreed statement of facts, read by assistant Crown attorney Kelly Weeks, that when Lapinskas arrived home to find her unconscious child, there was water on the bathroom, bedroom and hallway floors.

"The toilet cistern, which had been functioning properly, was now cracked along both the front and back to the point where it leaked badly and was no longer structurally sound."

In his sentencing submission, defence counsel Michael Lacey said the agreed upon assaultive conduct was an isolated incident.
