Here is some stuff I am just wondering about.
Was his boss that fired him a woman? Was it the girl's roommate's Ipod he was supposed to have taken and was she the one that insisted he leave.
We were told it was the mother that approached the roommates and asked them if JH could live with them.
What I am wondering is if JH's fantasies could have turned violent and sadistic towards females in this time period?

Good question Fessel, I think freakboy has been "strange" for a very long time. Richard Wharton found kid-*advertiser censored* in Jarred's tacklebox when he was 16.
From the way his Mom talked to him, she is in charge, always has been, always will. I'd resent it if I were him. Plus, Mom's judgement regarding her children is careless. She would have let the 52 year old dude she married have sex with her 8 year old "if God said to".
So, her control is not in their best interests.

So none of this matches up with sadistic and angry unless he kept that deep in his secrets.

I could imagine that JH has a whole lot of resentment going on. First mom left dad to marry this sick Newman guy, then she gives her daughter to the man. Then he is taken by child services and shuffled around , to dad and back to mom. The pain caused my a mother choosing a man over her children lingers forever in the heart of a child. I am curious as to exactly why he ended up being home-schooled. Not that I have anything against it, I just wonder where and if it fits into the person he has turned into. Was he home schooled for his sake or for his parents sake?
As for his Aunt's comments, it's a lot of the same in cases like this, comments by neighbours and relatives like "he was a quiet guy, seemed nice." "i cant believe he could be responsible" "theres no way he could of done this" are par for the course IMO.

REPORTER: Well, start from the beginning. This goes back to August. What happened in August?
R. BUCHANAN: Um, back in August, or actually a little before August, Harrell was asked to move out of his parents’ home on Gano. Um, they used the excuse that they wanted him to get out on his own, become a man, and take care of hisself.
(Coughs) Excuse me. He didn’t have anywhere to go, and, uh, so they had called our daughter and asked if he could move in with them, be a roommate, and they said sure. While he was there, some things came up missing.
Um, they went out one night while he was asleep, searched his car, found their iPod that he had stolen, woke him up in the middle of the night and told him he had to get out or they were gonna call the police. And, uh, he left his computer and a bunch of disks and asked if they, you know, would keep hold of it until he could find a place to go.
During that time, about a week passed, since they hadn’t heard from him, uh, conversation came up about the possibility that child *advertiser censored* being found on his computer by our, at the time, minor son a year prior to this.
So they went out and turned the computer on and saw things nobody should have to see. At that point they became very emotionally upset, called her mother at work, told her about it.
And we took it to JSO (Jacksonville Sheriffs Office) thinking that was where we needed to take it. Once we handed everything over to JSO, they then sent it back to Clay County to be processed, and Detective Eckert took over from there.
And then when the little Somer girl came up missing, uh, didn’t really think too much about it because we didn’t know that he had moved back to his parents’ house on Gano. And, uh, somebody called, and I don’t remember who had told us that he had moved back there with his parents, and then somebody called and said his parents had actually moved out of the house about two weeks before Somer came up missing.
And on our way up to Orange Park, my wife said “Let me take you by and show you where the house is.” And when we went by, his vehicle’s in the driveway and it was right across from the athletic field. Right where she had to walk every day.
Um, we went down and we found – the whole detective squad was still working the area since this was like two days after they found her – and we found a deputy on the side of the road and we told him our concerns and showed him the house. He took us around to, um, the lead detective. We filled him in on everything, told him. He sent the deputy back around, he ran the tag on the vehicle, found out it was his, and that he had been living there. Um, and I guess his parents moved to somewhere in Calahan prior to that happening . Um, and yeah, they did have a white dog, a little white dog. So …
REPORTER: Are you surprised – because you brought this to the attention of authorities back in August – and are you surprised that by October, when Somer went missing and was ultimately her body was found, are you surprised that he hadn’t been arrested on these child *advertiser censored* charges?
R. BUCHANAN: A little bit. But at the same time, you know, I know there’s a process. And I see so many of these sick perverts they get off with a slap on the wrist or probation because some slick lawyer finds a technicality to get ‘em off on. So, you know, hats off to the Clay County Sheriffs Office for doing their job and doing it the right way and taking their time to make sure they got him.
And I am so sorry about little Somer and her family and what they are going through. I can’t even begin to imagine that, but at the same time, there’s no guarantee that had they had rushed in and arrested him that it would have prevented this from happening.

Unfortunately I think he made his own "movies" or photos with the relative listed in the very first arrest warrant. The one the roommates were looking for pictures of. Do any of the charges list distribution? Just curious.

When you look at the definitions of those words under the law he was charged with it could mean he sent child *advertiser censored* to someone.
DIRECT/PROMOTE SEXUAL PERFORMANCE BY CHILD
827.071 Sexual performance by a child; penalties.--
(b) "Performance" means any play, motion picture, photograph, or dance or any other visual representation exhibited before an audience.
(c) "Promote" means to procure, manufacture, issue, sell, give, provide, lend, mail, deliver, transfer, transmute, publish, distribute, circulate, disseminate, present, exhibit, or advertise or to offer or agree to do the same.
(3) A person is guilty of promoting a sexual performance by a child when, knowing the character and content thereof, he or she produces, directs, or promotes any performance which includes sexual conduct by a child less than 18 years of age. Whoever violates this subsection is guilty of a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

I'm seeking clarity on the time of 8/1-11/1 2008 as to where JH was living at this time. As indicated, Rod B's stepson found *advertiser censored* on JH's computer (and told).
Was JH's computer located at his parent's home at the time or was it at RB's home? Is there any documentation on where JH was actually living during this period.
Timeline shows that the next month (9/2008) JH moved in with RB's stepdgt and her fiance.

It's looking and sounding like JH is stressed/depressed and I agree that safety garment is needed and a good strategy by LE. It also suggests the likelihood that his emotional state could be used to LE advantage in obtaining confessions.

Of course, I don't have a complete list of his friends and family and there is no guarantee he didn't give it to someone in another county or state.

I watched the interview of Rod B. (thanks again Noway for the link) and my question was answered. The stepson saw what he saw on JH's computer that was located at JH's parent's home.
Couple of new issues/questions from watching that interview video. RB made a reference to "other kids" living in the home at that time - are these kids known and/or possibly the interest of DCF now.
Also, RB made reference that JH lived in stepdgt's home for about 2 months - then was made to move. Noway's timeline seems to show it was 2008 rather than 2009. Clarify?

RB said it was early August when theft was alleged and JH was made to leave. This seems to put him moving in with the stepdgt around June '09.

I think JH lived with Parents on Gano at least since Aug, 2008 , reason being RB stated that his son saw the icon for *advertiser censored* a year prior at the Parents home on Gano. He moved in with the Roomies about June 09 they found the actual *advertiser censored* in Aug so...IMO he had lived at the home on Gano prior to moving in with Roomies then went back , Parents moved out 2 weeks prior to when Somer's went missing.

I have no problem with anyone questioning the timeline. I used to have a note in there that said that but I deleted it.

I will listen to video but cannot right now. It's choppy on laptop. I'll edit the timeline a bit.
It makes more sense that JH was only there a couple of months.
