I didn't know that they moved. The last I knew she went back to OK and would come to Dallas area if there were developments. So are searches still happening on the weekends?

BBM
Yep... every Saturday, I believe.

Hi CatsInTheCradle, here is an article that answers the question and thought I would post for you:

http://interactives.dallasnews.com/2015/finding-christina/

"
McElroy moved into a one-bedroom apartment in Plano a few weeks ago. Reminders of her daughter are everywhere, from Christina’s neon sign in the kitchen to her photos on the walls to her skateboard shoes near the couch.

Anna Morris, who has been a second mom to Christina since her parents divorced when she was young, tries to describe the hole in her life this past year. “It’s that feeling of total paralysis, that panic when you can’t put your eyes on your child,” she said.

She still rushes to answer her cellphone when an unfamiliar number pops up, hoping Christina is on the other end."

"Plano police have two detectives assigned solely to Christina’s case — a rarity for the department. Lead detective Robyn Busby goes over the evidence, the witnesses and any new leads that come up. Investigator Kevin Sasso, meanwhile, continues to search for Christina.

Every time a story appears in the media, the tip line lights up. None of the information so far has amounted to much. A few psychics have even contacted police. “They have these visions of this or that,” police spokesman David Tilley said, like seeing a water tower with a pond nearby. Every tip gets checked."
The group suspended its formal efforts within a week or so. But the search for Christina continues with volunteers. Scores turned out in the early days. Numbers dwindled as time wore on."

"Still, a dedicated bunch meets at 8 a.m. every Saturday at Allen High School. This time of year, greetings are swapped along with bug spray to thwart the chiggers, ticks and mosquitoes."

I pulled the quotes from the article, I also thought it good that Plano has two detectives assigned solely to her case.

Thank you so much LatestForever :) off to read!

Happy to help! I finally found my thanks button. I found it on my pc, which I rarely use, it disappeared from my phone. I just want to thank y'all all right now for your posts. The recent ideas have me brainstorming again.

Latestforever, that was a great article on the case. Thanks so much for finding and sharing the link.

Here's the link again, for any who may have skipped past it like I did initially. http://interactives.dallasnews.com/2015/finding-christina/

It's informative, accurate to what we know, and a great reminder of what may have been forgotten as we wait for a trial. In essence, it's a mainstream media complete "look back" at the case and all that transpired, a year after she has been missing, but it includes lots of current quotes and a few snippets that are a bit newsy. Well worth the time to read.

Thanks. I was just rereading the article again and this popped out at me:

"When Arochi decided to head out about 3:30 that morning, Christina said she’d walk with him to the parking garage. "

Not that it matters in the scheme of things, but I remember from a VI (I think) that Christina was ready to leave and EA jumped at the chance to walk her to her car. Am I wrong??

Also from same article;
"Arochi’s attorney, Keith Gore, did not return calls for comment but has said that his client will plead not guilty. Trial is tentatively set for Nov. 30."

Who knnows anymore. The VIs stopped posting. I prety much take what they said with a grain of salt. So much confusionn.

Me either.

Does anyone know WHY HF and his dad thought she would be at the casino?

I don't believe they thought she would be at the casino, per se. I do know that HF visited many businesses along Central Expressway to ask if anyone had seen CM or heard anything, or to keep their ears open for info. I spoke with someone who has a business in Plano who said that HF visited their establishment and left fliers. So I know that this is true. (but I'm no insider, so... I'm just putting it out there.)

What was said was that HF and his dad traveled north on Central Expy (75) and passed out fliers at rest stops along the way, businesses, etc and made their way north to the casino. At that point, I would guess that they thought she may have been taken by someone and that person may have taken a major highway north to get out of town. That seems logical to me. You see all the time, where some person is abducted and then someone from a Waffle House or something says, "Yeah, I saw that girl last night with some dude. She looked like she'd been crying..." or whatever.

LOTS of people pass through the casino and that area in general. I would guess that it was a good place to disseminate information about her disappearance.
Moo

I am just thankful that your thanks button worked. I have not been able to get mine,,, wait. Sheesh every time I want to complain it works.

:shame:

Pre-trial at 9am on Friday. Hope it doesn't get moved/cancelled again.

Bumping for Christina.

Me either.

I've always assumed HF was running some drugs up there and covered his real activities by passing out flyers about Christina. I don't think he ever did anything else to try to find her!

I have been checking in, nothing to add. It does my heart good to see the OP's on here. I so related to Christina (except I would have thrown HF to the curb real fast), but she was lively, could have been a smart business woman, and a good mother. She had 2 good ones in her life, that's for sure. I'm listening to Darryl Hall singing with Aaron Neville and thinking of this sweet girl.

Just now testing for hair? I know I read early on that EA had been seen using a shop vac to clean his car the day after Christina disappeared. Am I missing something?

JMO

Purely 100% speculation on this, but: a) I think they can determine from the root of the hair if the hair came from a deceased person or an alive person (throw back to Casey Anthony trial) and b) her mother said it's almost definite that the trial will be delayed because of this "new" evidence - they (the State) just bought themselves more time to find her and/or prove it was murder.

Delay of trial for November, while sounding upsetting, is hopefully a good thing. Sounds like some very compelling stuff is going on at the crime lab . :please:

Agree. While I am sad about the delay, it looks likes prosecutors are crossing the t's and dotting the i's. I think, while it might be a little ways off, conviction is eventual for EA. I'm also super curious about the phone calls and whether or not important information is in them.

No telling what he may have said, and it may be a big to-do about nothing. But I can't imagine that the court would disallow the use of those conversations. There is no legal "right to privacy" on a public phone conversation in prison. LE is allowed to snoop around and listen to what suspects say in public, without announcing they are listening. It's called gathering evidence.

This is good news, I don't mind when the trial takes place as long as he gets the injection MOO.

O/T you guys over the pond need to get on to congress or whoever and sort out your crimes labs taking 6 months to a year to test crucial DNA samples, over here in the UK it only takes 48 hours if not sooner to get results back maybe it's because of the size of our country but it shouldn't take sometimes a year to get DNA tests back IMO.
