Okay. Do you know who cropped the photo?

the 2 photo's I uploaded to websleuths, I downloaded from here: http://www.stevenaverycase.org/photos/ scroll down to the Shell Casing and Bullet Comparison Photos, I saved the 2nd and the 4th one.

those were the 2 photo's I was looking at. Neither are cropped as far as I can tell.

I think I have figured out why they are not the same now anyway.... because.... well, they aren't LOL EI was 11 casings, they were not marked individually. So now, I am done the conversation.

I guess my mistake was opening the link to a Reddit post you supplied where the poster said that they had cropped the photo.

I should know better. I'm done also.

At the bottom of that .... "A Similar Case". Am I to understand that there were human adult bones in that burnpit? that were later obviously not the missing girls because her remains were found later? huh? and it was around the time of TH's disappearance?

I don't think the author of the article was surmising that Christine Rudy had anything to do with the Halbach case, as she was last seen on November 12, 2005 and the bones at Avery's were "found" on November 8, 2005. However, I think it was more the point that Eisenberg apparently incorrectly identified fetal bones in the burn pit of the similar case since the true body of Christine (with fetus still intact) was found some time later. In other words, it is kind of like the Culhane situation, where it wouldn't be surprising to find out that "expert" findings, weren't so expert, after all. IMO.

I find it interesting that the test shots were done in Feb. Before the fragment shows up in the garage.

Look at the top of this paper. The date it was received. 2-27-06.

Is that not the day they also start to question BD again. Hoping for enough to get a search warrant. In my opinion of course.

Interview of BoD on 2/27/06 http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-c...ibit-124-Bobby-Dassey-2-27-2006-Interview.pdf

Also this the date they visit the HS to talk to BD.

Okay, forgive me if this has already been discussed, it's hard keeping track of all the threads.

The bullet fragment - I'm stuck on this right now.

From what i read, it was a fragment found (in the garage) not a complete bullet, with TH's DNA on it?

If only a fragment was found and if she was indeed shot in the garage as the prosecution allege, surely the remainder of that bullet would be in the garage right? Yet they only found that fragment.

The only other scenario I can fathom, is that the remainder of the bullet was in her skull. They also say she was shot twice in the head. So that's one fragment recovered from a minimum of two bullets.

The prosecution say TH was burned in SA's pit. Did they recover the complete bullet and the partial bullet from the pit? Surely they should have been there?

Perhaps I'm missing something here and someone can set me straight, or offer another plausible scenario in regards the bullets?

How much did the fragment weigh?

A standard .22LR weighs 40 grains. Some weigh a bit less. It's a pretty small bullet. A grain is just under 65 milligrams. 40 grains is 0.0914286 ounces.

Maybe it wasn't just a fragment, lets say it was a full bullet. Where's the other bullet? Prosecution said two bullet holes in the skull

FK and FL are bullet fragments
http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Steven-Avery-Trial-Exhibit-314.pdf

FL is the one that Culhane deviated from protocol to report those findings, it could not be retested because there was no dna left after her test.

could 'bullet fragment' = complete bullet?

are there photos of said fragments

FL is the one with 'DNA' weighing 19.7, FK weighed 30.7, so if we assume correctly or incorrectly that 30.7 is even full weight, that would mean there was bullet fragments not recovered from one or two bullets?

I'm really not too sure SgtScraps. Hopefully someone that knows more will come along and be able to answer your questions :)

Thanks Missy, this is what has been bugging me of late. That doesn't look like a full bullet to me either. So where are the bullet remnants? If not in the garage, then in her skull. Did they find them in the pit, or are both fragments recovered in the garage?

Are these weights in grains?

If the bullets started at 32 grains, which a CCI Stinger round weighs, then it's not surprising that a very small amount of lead would not be recovered.

Those were both found in the garage. And yes... we have had the discussion, I think in the bones or bonfire thread. (we cross over lots with those 2 topics lol) Some of us, including myself, have questioned if a .22 would even exit the skull and if not, why it was not found in the burnpit.

I'm not sure if its grains, these figures are listed in evidence from missys previous post. I don't know if this would qualify as a 'very small amount'. Roughly 35% smaller was the fragment that tested positive for DNA according to Culhane. If it's not in the garage it must be in the pit right?

I get what you are saying SgtScraps :) I just don't know the answer haha Like I said... from everything I have learned, I question if the bullets even exited. So then they should have been in the burn pit. JMO

The bullet could fragment into many smaller pieces that would be very hard to find.
