I was looking at those FB pics, thinking "she sure is proud of her backside"...then I saw a pic from the front, and realized why she has so many posted of the back! Lol!

She only lost one FB friend probably because she doesn't have any real friends to begin with.

She would have given me a bad vibe even if I'd seen pics of her before hearing of this abuse.

As for the cracked ribs...that little girl probably was very small. I have a feeling the "not eating for three weeks" actually meant "not fed for three weeks" so she was severely malnourished. If she started life in an orphanage, it's possible she didn't have good nutrition in her early years, either, so her bones probably were not that difficult to break.

That hideous woman probably stood on her chest in a damn yoga pose, chanting about peace and love.

The 2 pics I saw of the victim shows her as overweight.
I'm sure that "mom obsessed with her own body didn't like Faye being overweight which is probably why she isn't' photographed.

Editing to say NOW I don't think she was overweight really but made to look like a boy.
 
I notice there's been locals posting reports about the accusations on pretty much every comment, so it'll be flagged in at least the commenting friend's notification.

Also a personal observation, Anke's page didn't shock me much because I see that **** on facebook all the time, lots of young women do it, pose endless selfies of themselves and then the expected, almost polite response is "beautiful, gorgeous" etc. For women in their late 50's it's more unusual, but I have relatives who are older and do it. The main reason I'm not a big fan of facebook.

I was also thinking there was something almost desperate in her past few weeks of posting, "I only focus on what I love", "I only focus on what I want". Pretty much the definition of denial right there.

The girls are due to be interviewed soon, according to reports. Perhaps they'll tell of abuse, but it's also possible (IMO extremely likely) the parents made Faye Lin a scapegoat and taught the other girls to look down on her and feel special and superior in comparison. However, if US experts interview them, they'll probably be able to detect that dynamic.

I guess that's why there's such a delay, wanting to settle the girls and not traumatize them more with questioning.

THAT is exactly what stood out to me most. More than my impression of narcissism, body issues, inappropriate pix of the younger girl.

The girl with the really short hair isn't Faye. That's another one of her sisters (her name is somewhere on mom's FB but I'm not naming her). I don't think you should be posting the girls' pictures here on WS. Nor should we be quoting their names (other than the deceased).

Just my understanding of TOS (I may be wrong) and I don't want to propogate their photos in public.

Hoping this is not true, poor little girls living in paradise but allegedly going through he**, imo.
Cannon&#8217;s three sisters have been taken into protective custody and are at a home in Belmopan. It is also believed that two of the little girls may have been sexually abused, and police are also looking into this allegation. Another couple who lived in the same apartment in which the Dohmes reside said that the children were beaten, and that they cried nearly every night, throughout the night.

I wonder if the second youngest wanted short hair and to dress the way she did or if she was made to. I'm fine with how she looks if it's on her own accord. I just feel everything is so sinister about this. :( jmo.

These girls were so victimized. I pray they never see these two adoptive so called parents ever again. The girls are so young and these are the only parents they know, so how are they going to tell what was wrong and what wasn't? They don't know what a normal life should have been. I wish someone could afford them a lawyer and get them out of there.

Will they be charged soon? I recall something early on that they have to be charged within 48hours?
I really hope this is fully investigated. I hope the 3 girls are being loved on and shown compassion right now. They must be so scared and so confused.

To be honest, it seems to me they are being re-arrested on any charges the police can come up with, and each time it gives the police another 48 hours. The article is also confused because it talks about bail being paid for David, yet he's still in custody. I think what it was supposed to say was that someone paid David's fine, possibly their lawyer. I guess the fine had to be paid in cash, and he didn't have $110 cash on him. They haven't been charged, so there's no bail.

I expect there's a fear of them fleeing the country, like John McAfee did.

Some charges now laid...

Official police reports confirm this today, Wednesday, July 12, 2017, that Anke Doehm has been arrested and charged for the crime of &#8220;Cruelty to a Child&#8221; while David Doehm will be formally arrested and charged tomorrow, Thursday, when he is taken out from Kolbe Foundation, Belize Central Prison on a removal order.

The arrests come in compliance with directive from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). This crime is tried only on indictment and carries a sentence of a 10-year prison term. The investigation regarding the death of Faye Lin Cannon continues.

This case has my head spinning, thanks for the latest update Snoopster! And yes, from what I see it looks like LE continues to do whatever it can to keep the couple in custody while they investigate further and hopefully make a solid case.

I continue to worry that the other "middle" girl has also been abused, just based on the info that she was pulled from school along with Faye Lin three years ago after the investigation that was reported on upthread. Hopefully the oldest girl will share what she knows about the allegations of physical and sexual abuse in the home.

Another reason for concern comes from a link yesterday regarding a statement made by Allen Whylie who is apparently the Commissioner of Police:

He along with his wife I understand were transported to Belize City today. He would have been taken to the prison to serve his time but I understand his fine has since been paid. I think that the investigators have gone through some of their equipment and the photo that they have seen, the legal advice given by our legal advisor I understand was that it would not amount to *advertiser censored* and so I believe that both individuals may have been released from police custody already. I had a discussion with an individual from the US Embassy and I also directed their Consular Chief to speak to the Eastern Division Regional Commander to give a more in-depth briefing but that is my understanding. My bolding. This is a very confusing statement, especially since it's attributed to a high-ranking LE official. One, I'd like to know if the image found was actually pornographic and two, why does this official not know the current status of the Doehms.

Even though Belize LE has said they are leading the investigation and the FBI are assisting them I sure hope the FBI involvement will help assure a proper investigation.

Welcome to the world of Belizean news reporting and LE :) Up until maybe a year and a half ago sexual assault in the papers was referred to as "carnal knowledge," or "unlawful sexual intercourse."

I've seen two papers reporting that DD's "bail" had been paid when he was fined--but he has never had a bail hearing. Fines and bail; to me, a simple concept of very different things. Typical so you really have to parse and not use the standards of reporting you might be accustomed to.

They're ensuring the Doehmes are in custody; I think they don't have a solid case for anything beyond the child endangerment at the moment.

Saatchi; they have a lawyer? I doubt it but maybe? Maybe I just haven't seen reported. I am not taking for granted that they have one simply because I don't think they have money for a retainer but maybe someone is helping or they DO have the funds for one--I don't know for a fact that they'd not have the money, it's just the feeling I have. Maybe the Am. Embassy then is providing one?
