Unidentified special-needs/mute teenage girl found wandering in Birmingham, West Midlands, six days ago (on Valentine's Day) in a distressed state.

I was watching this unfold at 3a.m ...

She's been identified by a Beds Police officer and is known by Surrey police too and has been referred to as 'the lady' by Beds police ...

If there's no report of a child or vulnerable adults missing after 6 days , the most likely reason is, she's neither ... maybe ... munchausens?

Don't think this has been linked here, and it's not really UK, but the accused is from Poole.

A British man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife, who he reported missing as they sailed off the coast of Cuba last year, the FBI has announced.

Lewis Bennett, 41, of Poole, Dorset, was arrested while he was waiting to be sentenced at a court in Miami for smuggling stolen coins during the voyage in May from which he was rescued alone.

The gold and silver coins were allegedly from a batch worth up to $100,000 (£75,000) that Bennett reported as stolen from his employer a year before his rescue.

The FBI brought the new charge as it investigated the disappearance of Isabella Hellman. In a court document, FBI special agent James Kelley said the bureau believed Bennett “knowingly and unlawfully killed” Hellmann.

@Mods - just a quick question really.

2 of the 3 above links from earlier this evening are now inaccessible, I assume this is because both girls have been found (confirmed) so the thread has been pulled, and fair enough.This happens fairly often on UK threads but I rarely notice it on US threads. So, my question is, who requests that the thread is deleted rather than marked "found safe"? Is it police, missing persons charities, the families? Or have we got a secret Brit-mod who is ridiculously on the ball?! I'm just a bit confused / curious as to how they seem to vanish so quickly!

Thanks, (nosy) Cags.

Wish that JESSICA ROE/STUART LYMER thread hadn't been removed cause .... WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Staffordshire man has made a second court appearance after he and a teenage girl were injured during an incident inside a police vehicle in Perth.

Stuart Lymer, 45, and the 17-year-old were arrested and taken to hospital following the incident on 5 March.

Mr Lymer, from Uttoxeter, is charged with possessing a knife at Perth railway station on that date.

He was granted bail at Perth Sheriff Court and the case was fully committed for trial.

Police Scotland has referred the incident to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc).
