That is what I read in an article, that he was believed to be going on a killing spree, so maybe he never actually killed anybody before his fatal attack.

I have leaned toward NF being a SK until reading this article closely. The woman who killed him states that he said, "I'm going to prison for a long time, and it's your choice whether it's for rape or murder." I had never seen the second part of the sentence mentioned before. Some suggested NF may have known he would soon be discovered. But if he tells his victim it's up to her whether he will be arrested for rape or murder, that implies she is the first victim (or the first victim for which he expects to get caught). This is assuming the woman's account is accurate, and these are genuine words from NF.

I'd have thought the restraint kit and other equipment in his vehicle was too sophisticated and extensive for a first offender. It looks like the sort of thing that is built up over time by experience. Unless of course there's a webpage out there showing a Serial Killer's Starter Kit for wannabes.

Sadly, there probably is.

There are a lot of books about serial killers and their methods. He could have been working his way up to it for the first time.

I don't think so, personally, but it's possible.

I don't know where I read it but apparently there were indications that he was planning "not to come back" or something, that a possible killing spree was in order. His profile may be too clichéd, I'm starting to believe his first victim was the one who shot him.

Sad that it seems there has been absolutely NO investigation by anyone since this happened. Perp dead. Case closed seems to be it.

I know it would seem like a slam dunk with DNA, fingerprints etc. Something has got to be related. Must be overworked and no more threat so put it aside. If I had a missing daughter etc. i would be pushing on them. Wish they would let us folks take those old boring cold cases with no glory for them but a lot of info for us. Just so curious what he did and for how long!!

It would be a good idea for someone to ask around the Las Vegas homeless and transient communities if they recall Falls hanging around.

& Unfortunately for Oregon there are so many missing persons cases that it would take a lot of detective work to figure out if Falls was responsible for some of those cases.

Hopefully people will come forward....since Israel Keyes was caught a potential victim posted on a major forum and then deleted the post. There's always a chance someone has info.

edit to add- his statements to the woman who ended up killing him might have been total lies....Many murderers have admitted to lying to victims to encourage their co-operation (with no intent to leave them alive.) Also if he had a "list" to get through he might have not been expecting to kill all of them, but attack as many, with a final few being murder victims.

I read through this thread & started wondering if Falls had straight up brain damage from being abused/neglected as a kid. Would definitely explain some of his reported behavior. Not excusing it at all but would make sense. I hate to say it because it's a damning statement but often kids abused by parents end up acting like a "carbon copy" of the abusive parent.

There's no electronic trail on Falls, where did this guy earn his money? Did he rob escorts before killing them.cross country? Did he rob banks?

He had brand new axes, knives, a tub, new t-shirts & underwear.......seems when he zones in on his targets, after he feels comfortable in the area & town, he starts killing, chops up his prey & dumps the weapons except for his handgun & cuffs.

To drive cross country with DNA on axes, knives, etc....would be suicidal. Just one traffic stop would have landed him.in prison if cops thought it was shady to be driving around with that kill kit.

Trying to.explain all those weapons is hard if you're coming from the west coast.

He lived out of his car, so he didn't want any electronic trail? The guy was definitely strange......Israel Keys had money & weapons stashed all over, Falls didn't have a job, or any viable income coming in.

I think Falls has definitely killed before, & we will never know the number of women, because detectives can only go off of evidence & facts.

The escort that killed him was looking evil in the face that night & she defeated him, she had an angel looking over her.

No. Lots of us have had a traffic stop at one time or another and either gotten a warning or a written ticket. Police didn't look in our trunks. It is only in exceptional cases they do that.

Very true, but the car he was driving was a Subaru 4 door hatchback, with 8 windows total.......a windshield, 3 side windows on each side & a back window. I don't see how any cop would miss all those weapons sitting in the back.

Yes, cops give out warnings, I just don't think he was carrying all those weapons cross country........I think where ever he decided to commit his crimes, he would buy his weapons in cash.

He might have stolen tools too. People have a problem with leaving garages open in the summer. All it takes is a fast stroll into a garage & a plausible sob story if caught to raid someone's place for items.

I'd wager people in Oregon have stories to tell about this guy....has anyone circulated his info in communities in Oregon where he lived?

Yeah, he might have stolen his weapons, because this guy didn't hold a job much, he traveled quite a bit.

He flew under the radar, although some people thought he was quiet but strange.

I don't know what the percentage is, but I've read quite a few serial killers that were a security guard, including Neal Falls.
