I've seen this happen before but it's gonna heat up again. The Marines are so embarassed about CL they will get him. It's a matter of time and the news will be everywhere. Dang,we just have to wait.
 
I hope he's found and arrested. It will be nearly impossible to find him in Mexico. He will use cash for anything he buys and he will be protected by his family.

Plus he can live on that money he took with him a long time down in Mexico. It is very cheap down there. I bet 99% of the population doesn't even get much US news that is talking about Laurean. Especially now that they have taken this case off the news.

Why do you think the marines are going in to get him? I have never heard of them going into a foreign country and getting a criminal back.

Never fear - this case isn't going to fade away. There's just a lull while the army and the police search for Laurean. And when they find him, we'll probably crash the forum talking about all the news. :)

I think the Heath Ledger case will calm down in a few days - people are just shocked right now.

Whether they "go in" or not isn't the question. The police in Mexico know this guy is a killer, and they've been asked to find him, and I think they will.

The Army will have alot to say to him and about him when he returns, but first the County where Maria Lauterbach died is going to lock him up.

Sorry that was a figure of speech.
I don't think they'll send a division down but I do think CL will be found. I believe we have american agents in Mexico who live there, who have connections, and of course speak fluent Spanish. They and the the sheriff (local law enforcement) and Marine investigators must be working with the mexican authorities and are sharing info. You can be sure local police are being encouraged to cooperate by watching his relatives and checking out leads. Other Americans have been extradicted and been brought back. By the way in the early 1990's 70% of the Mexican population owned a TV set. It has to be higher by now. One of our congressmen wote a letter to President Calderon requesting that CL be extradited not to mention the $25,000 reward. When CL comes back it will be interesting to see who will escort him.

Don't worry this won't fade away into the the back burner! People are MAD! We don't know exactly what is going on behind the scenes we only know what they want us to know! And no CL is not smarter than the FBI or the marines or LE he just had a wife that helped him out with the 'plan' before reporting anything.. But thats ok in due time HIS time (and quite possibly hers) will come!

So Hudson thinks the GJ will convene and have a decision in 3 hours?! I wish they would give their speed secrets to the GJ in IL hearing the case of Stacy Peterson! I don't understand how Hudson can possibly know ahead of time when to call a presser. Interesting.

Again, I would say if he talked his Marine wife into helping him escape by not going to LE for a few extra hours of a head start and the outcome is he made it into Mexico avoiding the DP...he IS smarter than the FBI, the Marines, or LE...and because they believed her story. Another way he was smarter was because he might as well have raised a flag in his front yard saying, "I am a suspect in Maria's disappearance." and they would not have noticed UNTIL Christina came forward with the notes.

Cesar Laurean outwitted, outsmarted, and outplayed them all! He is a free man and unless they (FBI, Marines, & LE) truly get their act together in Mexico...he will remain free.
 
I finished posting the timeline for the month of December. One thing I have learned, in the next case I will definately be writing down all pertinent info. from the very FIRST POST!!!! :)

I will be working on this Month next.

I would much rather call him lucky then smart lol.. I believe the marines are the only ones who were aware of what was going on with Maria. Onslow county didn't even know about Maria until he was gone.. So for what about a month the marines sat on this.. hopeing nothing would come of it or just hopeing it would go away? Maybe they just didn't care, I don't really know what they were thinking. I would like to know exactly what marines were made aware of her disapearance and did they know about the rape allegations?

Chiperoni, I agree with you. If Mexico is anything like CR, most people own a tv set. You may see the most humble shacks and yet most of them own a tv. And the majority of the middle class owns several tvs and have cable access. Cable is very big here in Central America, and most people try to speak and understand English, so they very often watch the news and other programs as practice.

So I am hoping that 's face will become familiar to Mexicans and that 25 K reward will entice someone to turn him in. Believe me, 25 thousand $ is a lot of money in Central America ! It is up to LE and the FBI to distribute wanted posters and keep this fresh. We just have to be patient and keep praying.

I know in my heart that justice will be done for Maria and Gabrielle.

Somewhere and I don't remember where, I read that the Grand Jury was being called back for a special session Thursday. Does that mean they've been meeting prior and are simply ready to hand down an indictment? And have they been considering an indictment for just CL or CL and others?
