Zahra's memorial and where to be buried.

Has Zahra's remains been released yet?
I pray she goes to her mom in AU and so called dad
has no rights to Zahra.

Why has all the media seemed to stop about AB???
I want justice for Zahra.
Is AB just walking around with no problems?

Passionflower, wish I knew the answers too! Things are too quiet. I would think that Zahra's remains would be released by now, but have not heard anything to that effect. I want justice for her so badly as well, thinking so much of her and how she would be so excited about Christmas :(

Anybody involved in this should not be free to enjoy the festivities grrrrrr.

Trying hard to keep the faith and be patient, and hope that LE is wrapping this case tightly!

Not sure if this is the right place, but this warmed my heart today.

(This is actually not about the park though)

"Meanwhile, flowers still mark the property where Zahra's remains were discovered during a search last year.

The girl's body was dismembered and remains have been found in two locations in Caldwell County.

Along Christie Road, where a bone and Zahra's prosthetic leg were found, the property owner has a sign up to remember Zahra, and people have been placing flowers and toys at the base of it for months.

Jake Icenhour now says he plans to put a concrete pad at the site so the memorial can be permanent.

"It's our land, we live here and we're gonna do it." Jake and his wife Priscilla visited the site Monday afternoon and said the whole community still wants justice in the case.
The investigation has been ongoing for months and no one has been charged in the girl's death, but Priscilla said that was all right with her.

"We want them to take their time and get everything right," she said"

Big hugs and I think you two are great Jake & Priscilla!

"Zahra's memorial and where to be buried."

Zahra is Australian and her burial place should be where her home is.

Hickory was a place where she lived for 3 weeks and there was only one reported siting of her. It was not a happy place for her and is where she was dismembered. North Carolina is a place where DSS was so 'overwhelmed' that the abuse was not accounted for and where this poor baby lost her life. The people of Hickory need to have a memorial to remind them that abuse should not happen.

I hope that in her hometown in Australia there is a park to commemorate her. This poor kid got the raw end of the deal, consistently. Taken to a strange land, abused horrifically by a wicked stepmother and left to twist in the wind by a DSS system that is 'overwhelmed'.

She was happy in Australia; bury her there, away from the freak zone that she encountered in NC.

Has there been any word on Zahra's remains being released? Shouldn't they be by now?
Yes Zahra needs to be brought to her homeland to rest in peace.

Could her remains have been released without any press?

Bringing over from media thread:

Work begins on Zahra memorial

CALDWELL COUNTY,NC (WBTV) – Ground was broken Thursday for a permanent memorial to Zahra Baker, the ten year old girl who was reported missing from Hickory in October, then found dismembered in Caldwell County.

A makeshift memorial has been at the spot on Christie Road in Caldwell County ever since the victim's prosthetic leg and a bone were found nearby.

"This concrete memorial will be something for people to visit for a long time, " said landowner Jake Icenhour.

"It will be here as long as I'm alive, I can assure you of that."

Icenhour and several others were building forms for the concrete that will be poured at the site in the next week or two.
