I knew they were young when they married but per article below, the Cummins were married on Jill Cummins's 18th birthday. While this isn't entirely uncommon or necessarily a red flag in itself, knowing who Tad really is puts some major perspective here for me. JC never had the chance to be her own person IMO. She never had a sense of autonomy or to know what independence feels like. Tad came first even before she was legally and emotionally an adult. In fact, I'm starting to think that this unsettling disconnect that we see from Jill isn't just misplaced shock and upset from the trauma of his reprehensible acts as I initially assumed, it's because she truly doesn't know who she is or what she believes in outside of the context of being Tad's wife.

In short, TC literally did not permit JC to live even one day as a legally autonomous entity (i.e. an adult). His narcissism and control issues defined their relationship from the get-go, if you ask me. I hope to God she becomes fully estranged from him going forward but am just not confident that this will be case.

Guess his $4500 didn't last very long. So happy ET was found physically safe. Praying for her emotional happiness.

I know some of it went for gas, the Super 8 motel stay, and the (small) Walmart purchase, but what else did they blow that money on?

So, is the needed refill of the "blood pressure medication" that pharmacies were supposed to be on the lookout for and the Cialis prescription one and the same?

You can see the creek in this news video and get a better feeling for the area around the cabins. It was beautiful, but I wonder if the cabin had heat or a bathroom. And it doesn't look like it has windows. To me it is more of a shed than a cabin.

Found another answer

"Cummins and Elizabeth stayed inside the tiny cabin for two nights, he said, with no running water or electricity. "

Wondering the same thing. When did the guy helping them give them money, before the trip to the commune or after?

Before the commune because he gave them directions to.

I figure at the lowest, he spent $50 a hotel room. He was at the cabin for two days and the commune for two days...so for a month missing he would have spent about $1,500 in hotels alone

Eating out gets to be pretty expensive. Then gas I would have no way to guess. I would imagine they found another walmart since she only packed summer clothes that she needed at least a jacket.

Eating a wheat and tomato free diet on the road will get very expensive.

Anyone know the amenities of those cabins? I read no electricity or running water, but was it just a 4 wall building? When I think of a cabin, I think of windows and least a sink or cot of some sort. It's sounding like, and looking like this was more like a shed they were in? Am I wrong?

In one of the articles, the caretaker called it an unfinished cabin.

I'm wondering if he did stop in Vegas or a remote casino along the way...

Given the fact that TC still has many supporters, especially among ET's young peers, I worry about the reception she will face back at home. She deserves and requires tenderness and understanding from everyone around her. I hope she can be shielded from negative people. She has been let down time and time again by the system. Much luck to her and her loved ones.
Same. If they are able to do so financially, I hope they can move to the opposite end of the state or another state entirely to give her a fresh, safe emotional environment. If I were a wealthy business owner, I'd offer her dad a job and a free place to live.
