That was a pretty boring pic to link.

This one's much, much nicer. There's an old saying about breaking a butterfly upon a wheel. Some people are born to try and break those beautiful creatures.

Others are born to enjoy them. Beauty is as beauty does.

This is beautiful, Zweibel. Wow! I hope a Facebook user will post this on the Stephanie Missing page.

This book was mentioned on another thread, but IMO it fits here perfectly.

Here is a link to the author's blog. http://marileestrong.blogspot.com

This is how she describes her book:
BBM

Erased: Missing Women, Murdered Wives

This blog is about the phenomenon of "missing women" and women murdered by their spouses or partners...cases in which the killer uses an elaborate form of "staging" to try to get away with murder. He may have made his wife or partner just "disappear" and fall out of contact with the world. She may appear to have drowned in the bathtub, taken a deadly fall accidentally, been secretly poisoned, died by gunshot in a mysterious assault where no assailant is found...or she may even appear to have committed suicide. I have researched over 100 of such cases. Most of them, you have never heard about. Many of the killers have gotten away with their crimes. After six years of research I now know that these men are not only deadly because of the strong psychopathic traits that show in their communication and behavior, but they are also learning from each other. Each one smugly believes he can get rid of the woman he no longer needs or wants, and believes that a secret homicide is the best solution. And he believes he will outsmart everyone. The victims of these killers are all but voiceless and I have written a book trying to give voice to their stories, exposing the truth about the killers. It is up to all of us to learn more, to understand these crimes, and to extend our empathy and compassion to the families, friends, and communities close to those who are killed. I believe we are all part of that wider community.

Here is a review of the book by Dr. Michael Stone:
BBM

"Erased: Missing Women, Murdered Wives is about psychopathic, intensely narcissistic men who not only get rid of their wives through murder (often to free the men up to be with a new lover) but who make them literally disappear . More than well-written, it is a page-turner, and should be required reading for police authorities all around the country. Her ‘poster-child’ is Scott Peterson, but she offers plenty of other poignant examples of this all-too-common phenomenon. Strong's clinical description of these supremely egotistical ‘wife-erasers’ is so accurate, that women around the country must certainly read her book."
--Dr. Michael Stone has been studying criminal psychopaths for several decades and is author of several standard texts in psychiatry including Abnormalities Of Personality: Within and Beyond the Realm of Treatment

In Sydney today, the New South Wales cold case unit arrested a man for the murder of a young woman, Mary Wallace, thirty years ago. Mary's body has never been found. The man arrested had been named as a POI years ago.

Where are you Stephanie? If someone has harmed you, may there be swift justice!

That will be an interesting case to follow, it's a no-body case and very, very old. Though not as old as the suspect's appearance implies - he looks like a grizzled old father time. I wonder how common no-body cases are in Australia? I think they are relatively rare in the US, but becoming more common as brave DAs are inspired by other successful prosecutions.

It is strange the way some missing people imprint themselves on people's consciousness, and never fade away. Others are gone from memory almost as soon as they disappear. I notice that Mary's sister is still talking about the suffering and grief her disappearance has caused them, and still is. I suppose if you have a family member forever reminding the world how much a loved one is missed, and how much justice is needed, it helps people remember. There are very people who can witness the suffering of others and not want to help in some way.

I hope there is justice for Mary.
I am sure there will be justice for Stephanie. That train's unstoppable, I believe.

The ex-boyfriend of missing Beaverton lady Tammy Borda has just been charged with her murder.

The body of missing Eugene lady Jacqueline Marroquin has just been located in woods.

Oregon law enforcement are working very hard to bring their missing home at this time, and get justice and ease the torment for loved ones. I thank them, and hope they can do the same for Stephanie soon.

Mary Wallace's case is so encouraging. I wish the same results for Stephanie, her family and friends.

As you mentioned earlier, Zweibel, this would be a good time of year for them to bring some attention to Stephanie's case. I hope they will, even though I know it can't be easy. Stephanie deserves the effort.

While googling Stephanie today, I found this recent discussion about her case (scroll down). At first, there wasn't much info and some misunderstandings in the comments. Finally someone posted the case summery from WS. Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - OR OR - Stephanie Anne Warner, 43, Ruch/Ashland Area, Timeline & Maps **NO DISCUSSION** Then someone else with knowledge chimed in (a WSer?), so the comments got more focused. They were comparing Stephanie's case to another missing woman's case. It's nice to see the case being discussed.

I sometimes get the feeling people are watching Stephanie's case closely, but their primary motive is not to find her - or at least, they don't seem to be doing everything they could, to help find her.

It would be interesting to know what might happen somewhere, behind the scenes, if Stephanie's case is being discussed but people have to register to see any of that information....I guess I'll never find out though.

I wish mainstream media would run something - it's nearly Christmas, a lovely lady has just vanished from the community and not been found - there has to be a story there somewhere. Perhaps an enterprising, investigative journalist could obtain an interview with the person of interest? Get his opinion, maybe, on the youtube video that has sprung up, defending him?

Or get an opinion from the producer of that video - who, after all, has raised the spectre of a 'lynch mob' mentality existing in Oregon? I'm not worried about aspersions upon my own character of course, as I live in Germany, but I'd still be interested to know why that person thinks so poorly of the citizens in Oregon - especially as it was Oregon police that named Lennie L Ames as a person of interest, not the citizens. Maybe it is just the police in Oregon that the person thinks have that mentality?

Very weird, if so. They look quite a nice, friendly bunch to me. I've never committed a criminal offence though, or been arrested, so I may be biased.

Zwei, there have been about ten no body prosecutions that I can recall. (This is a fairly significant percentage, much smaller population)
I'm sorry, I don't know how to link, but in my state, the partner of Bob Chappell was successfully prosecuted for his murder, on largely circumstantial evidence. His body has never been found, and she is still proclaiming her innocence.
The outback murder of British tourist Peter Falconio was prosecuted without his body ever being found.
Spine chillingly, the body of new born baby, Tegan Lane, ahs never been found, and her mother, Keli Lane, has just had an appeal turned down. This lady, who was a water polo player who hoped to make the Olympics, had no less than three "secret pregnancies", (whilst living with her partner, and being in bathers every day), and the second Baby, Tegan, was taken from the hospital, (of birth) and never seen again. What was seen again was her mother, Keli, on the video of a friends wedding, filmed three hours after they left the hospital! It was when she had the third baby, and adopted this out, (as she had done with the first), that authorities started to question what had happened to Tegan, and there was a nation wide search. Very sad.

In the Wallace case, there is mention of forensics that were not available to police at the time of the crime. Who knows what tests will be available in five, or even ten years?

It really would be nice for there to be a story, Zweibel. Local reporters just don't seem interested. The local community has forgotten about Stephanie, if she ever was on their radar. I apologize in advance for being blunt, but why should the press be interested? No one in Stephanie's family is pushing them. Why should the community remember Stephanie if no one in her family reminds us about her?

I contrast this with Patrick McStay, the father (step and adoptive) of Joseph McStay who was found buried last month with his wife Summer and two adorable little boys in shallow graves in the Southern California desert near Victorville. They were missing almost four years, and assumed by LE to have left voluntarily. Patrick has kept the pressure on the San Diego County Sheriffs Dept., given them information, filed complaints about the investigation and generally made a pest of himself all the way from Texas. He also maintains an active and feisty Facebook page.

Now he has gone to the press with a list of his top suspects. CBS channel 8 in San Diego has run four stories this week investigating these men and exposing their unsavory backgrounds. They are not POIs officially, and I imagine he is risking lawsuits, as is the TV station. In fact, his actions have caused such a rift in his family that his son Michael has uninvited him from the public memorial for Joey and his family!

Whether you agree with Patrick or not, IMO you have to admire his tenacity and the risks he has taken to find his son's family and to obtain justice for them. He knows that the murderer of his loved ones is out there and needs to be caught, tried and punished, whatever sacrifices it takes.

I'm sure Stephanie's family also knows that her murderer is still out there and needs to be caught, tried, and punished. I hope they are willing to take a page from Patrick McStay's play book and make whatever sacrifices it takes to help this happen.

Pushing local reporters to cover Stephanie's case would be a good start.

This has been a very difficult time for our family. My 80-year-old mother is suffering from severe health issues, brought on partly, by Stephanie Ann Warner's murder. My son still cries out in his sleep. I am working to maintain a sense of balance but today was especially difficult; last year Steph decorated the tree with us. We haven't had the heart to decorate it. It stands, lit, without decoration. Thank you for keeping her flame alive while I struggle with my grief. Thank you and God Bless You!

Does anyone know what colors Stephanie likes? Flowers? Crafts or arts? Or practical things? I know she helped out the Jackson firewood charity - would that have meant she actually chopped wood?

I am full of admiration if she did; I had to give a fine load of timber away because me and hubby nearly did ourselves serious mischief trying to chop it up into manageable bits. Hubby collects tools from DDR (communist) times. The head of the axe he was using flew off and whizzed past his ear.

Sissy loved Purples, pinks, greens, reds; she was a blaze of color and she loved vibrant, rich hues. Sis kept a daily list of "to do's." She used to draw in the corners and along the edges. She loved nature and animals.

She actually chopped and stacked and delivered wood to the needy; she was a hard worker who loved things in order, neat and tidy. She became the second in command at the Jackson County Wood Lot due to her endless energies and her dedicated hard work. I try not to drive by the wood lot, but there are times I can't help myself and as I drive by, I catch myself searching for that blaze of red hair that would stand out in the crowd of workers. She is not there. She is gone from the wood lot, gone from our lives, taken from us forever. We will never again hear her laughter.

Sissy planted a window garden for Mama; she wanted color to be blooming all season for her and we had fun planning the floral palate for my 80-year-old mother. The flower she loved the most was the bleeding heart. That's where I got my name, DICENTRA = Bleeding heart. It seemed fitting.

Energetic, powerful, artistic, dramatic, sensitive, thoughtful, reckless, loyal, generous, passionate, funny, kind, loving. Steph advocated for the underdog and extended herself to those less fortunate. Steph didn't care about "things;" she didn't care about money and would spend yours as easily as she'd spend her own for the right cause. Stephanie Ann Warner was a force of nature and I am blessed and grateful that she adopted us as her family.

Rest in Peace my little sister. I promise that those who harmed you will be judged one day. I promise that I will continue to do good in the world in honor of who you were. I promise that you will be remembered with love.

We miss you.

A decoration for you and yours and Stephanie, because I don't think she'd like to see a bare tree and grief in her friend's home at Christmas. Peace and love to you, Dicentra.

A new year will mean a new start for the search for Stephanie. I don't believe she just disappeared into thin air.

I don't believe everyone who knows something about her disappearance has done everything they can to help.

I don't believe it was just a lynch mob mentality that led police to name a person of interest in this case.

I don't believe there are any victims here, except Stephanie and those who truly love her.

I don't believe whoever disappeared her is going to get away with it.

I absolutely know Stephanie Warner is not going to be forgotten.

My very best Christmas wishes for everyone loving and searching for Stephanie.

Stephanie's sister Sharon speaks twice, and very forcefully, on the video. Thank you Sharon!. :tyou:

According to Detective Henderson:(with a few comments by me)

Ames is free to go wherever he wants, although Henderson says people might think it's strange he would leave the area when he claims to be close to someone who is missing.

Ames is wanted for littering and trespassing on BLM land in Jackson County. (I doubt that's an extraditable offense!)

Ames may have gone to Georgia (not mentioned: That is where the mother of Ames' dil lives).

Ames' son, Jared Fournier is wanted for parole violations. (Nothing on FB since Nov. 8--a threatening martial arts photo).

I just discovered that most of the links below are broken. Please bear with me while I attempt to fix them. :banghead: Thanks!

ETA: HELP NEEDED!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. When I copy and paste the URL, it doesn't come through with a line under it showing that it works. The ones in my original post below all have lines under them, but most won't open. :pullhair: :anguish:

ETA: TESTING..... http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=stDakD...Fwatch%3Fv%3DstDakDoSz9s%26feature%3Dyoutu.be OK That works.

Stephanie's Timeline and Map Thread-- http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226249&highlight=Stephanie+Warner And so does this.

I'm not sure what I'm doing right, but I'll try this on a new post with the rest.

Stephanie's sister's comment just captures the torment and frustration families of the missing go through. It is so sad.

And meanwhile, the person of interest in the case seems to have abandoned his missing girlfriend after managing to get himself 'wanted' on petty charges of littering, and headed to Georgia. The land of chivalry and good manners.

He'll do well there then.

All LE will have to do when they want to find him is look out for trails of litter and scruffy trailer homes parked up without permission......
