Claiming he’s a victim of “blatant, testimonial hearsay,” a once-prominent Wellesley Hills allergist serving life for the Halloween slaughter of his wife 12 years ago has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to consider his bid for a new trial.

Supreme Court justices will review ex-doc Dirk Greineder’s 30-page petition at a conference scheduled for April 1.

Greineder is hoping to pique the Supreme Court’s interest in Sixth Amendment cases by arguing that a lab- oratory director’s testimony at his trial about DNA evidence — when she neither conducted nor reviewed the actual testing — amounts to “blatant, testimonial hearsay” that violated the ex-doc’s constitutional right to confront witnesses against him.

Oh brother! What a waste of time. He is guilty as sin.

Any updates on Dirk Greineder? I guess they didn't grant him a new trial. I wonder if his children are all still standing by his side?

SJC refuses to grant new trial to Dirk Greineder, convicted of murdering wife in Wellesley

In a 42-page ruling, the Supreme Judicial Court rejected Greineder’s claim that his Norfolk Superior Court trial was constitutionally flawed because a DNA expert summarized results of forensic tests performed by another person.

The “decision re-affirms that Mabel Greineder was the victim of a brutal domestic violence murder at the hands of her husband Dirk, the fairness of his trial and that the verdict was just.’’ Morrissey said, crediting prosecutors and investigative work by Wellesley and State Police for his arrest and conviction.

On Halloween morning in 1999, Mabel Greineder was savagely murdered along a wooded trail in the well-heeled community of Wellesley. As the shock following the brutal slaying slowly subsided, the community was further shaken when the focus of the investigation turned to her husband, Dirk Greineder, a prominent allergist and family man who was soon revealed to be leading a secret double life involving prostitutes, *advertiser censored*, and trysts solicited through the Internet.

Marty Foley and Tom Farmer, the authors of "A Murder in Wellesley" will talk about the case and their book at the Peabody Institute Library on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.
