Also could his plane even get to Asia if need be. I was under the impression it was a prop plane but I could be pulling that out of my ....

I was more wondering if he supposedly suprised her with this cheap ticket how and why she got to Tokyo after going to the Philippines first.

We would have to know what type of plane he had. If his plane had enough fuel range, that could be possible, with two or three stops to refuel, and several days.

Just jumping in here, does anyone know the name of the "predecessor" company that he worked for that became Lockheed Martin? I heard that part and it made me think of Jonbenet Ramsey's dad, who I believe also worked for a predecessor of Lockheed Martin. I wondered if it was the same company.

Lockheed Corporation or Martin Marietta. I don't believe it has been reported which company he worked for.

I don't think it would be possible in a single engine plane except by hugging the coast of Canada, Alaska, Russia etc etc. According to this:

https://www.quora.com/How-far-can-a-single-engine-airplane-fly

Maximum range would be 2,000 miles.

LA to Hawai'i is 2,500 miles.

Even if he hopped all the way to Ecuador, he couldn't get further across the Pacific than the Galapagos Islands.

My guess is that he planned on being able to get to Mexico and beyond and then pick up a scheduled flight to Asia, probably taking a roundabout route to wherever he wanted to end up. Maybe even backtrack to one of the Pacific nations/archipelagos and try to disappear from sight.

Well there you go. You just listed one way. Another way would be to use ferry tanks to carry extra fuel. Again we would have to know what type of planes he had.

IIRC first burst wasn't into the crowd. I wonder if he fired at the tanks but they didn't blow. (With that double rolled steel you're only gonna get bullet dents). Maybe switched to plan B and fired at the people. Just a thought before hitting the sack.

There were two bullet holes in the tanks. One of them penetrated the tank.

Las Vegas Strip shooter targeted aviation fuel tanks, source says

Las Vegas Strip mass murderer Stephen Paddock used his Mandalay Bay hotel room to fire bullets at jet fuel tanks Sunday night, a knowledgeable source told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The bullets left two holes in one of two circular white tanks. One of the bullets penetrated the tank, but did not cause a fire or explosion near the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, another knowledgeable source said late Wednesday.

The tanks are roughly 1,100 feet from the concert site, where Paddock killed 58 people and wounded almost 500. Several airplane hangars belonging to prominent corporations are also near the tanks.

Within the past couple of days, a construction crew repaired the holes, and FBI agents inspected the tanks and took measurements of the line of fire from Mandalay Bay, the sources said.

One fellow gambler at a casino near Paddock’s home recounted a bizarre incident from a few months back when he shared a blackjack table with the shooter.

“He said, ‘I wish I could just go kill my mom. I don’t know why the hell she brought me into this world,’ ” recalled Leo Miller, 85, a regular at the Eureka Casino.

“Everybody at the table couldn’t believe what he said . . . When he was sober, he was nice as anybody. His drinking got to the point where he didn’t even know what the hell he was doing on the table.”

Ex-cop Hope Ahrens, 63, said Paddock and his live-in girlfriend Marilou Danley, 62, stopped in most mornings for coffee and a Krispy Kreme doughnut at her gas station.

Danley would also pick up two cheap bottles of wine for $3 each during the morning stop.

The point I was trying to make is that that route is not feasible. It would take him the best part of a week to clear Canada and Alaska, and he would need to put down and refuel at least once before he left US airspace. Even if he evaded watches being kept for him, he would have to run the gauntlet of the Russian, North and South Korean, Chinese and Japanese airforces. He really wasn't going to get past that lot, especially as everyone in that region is on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary at present.

Another way would be to use ferry tanks to carry extra fuel.

Maybe. I don't know enough about that to know how feasible it is.

Again we would have to know what type of planes he had.

All I've seen is mention of him having been licenced for single-engine props for landing on land.

Eric said that Stephen stopped talking to his brother Bruce because Bruce used to beat him up when they were kids*and that Stephen stopped talking to Patrick because they’re very different people.

Another classmate remembered Paddock showing up at a 20-year reunion and repeatedly angling to talk to her.
Nelson, in Las Vegas, fished through an old box of keepsakes and found a 10-year reunion program that contained a one-line description that each classmate had written. Paddock’s read: “Single, accountant, has traveled to Hollywood, lives in Sepulveda [Calif.]”

I am having so much trouble with the hero security guards story. I just don't understand how an unarmed security guard managed to approach that door and end up with a minor shot to the leg while SP struck people with head shots from over 1000 feet away!!! That whole scenario before the police arrived is baffling to me from the police scanners. I'm not accusing the security guy just thinking aloud....was he spared deliberately??? Known to SP???

I'm not sure if it would be feasible or not. I was just answering the question. It would be possible. We would have to know exactly what type of planes he had.

Did anyone see any sparks coming from either window thro the entire sequence?/

It becomes more confused when i learned he fired 200 shots out the door .

Interesting. Just for accuracy's sake, though, Friday was 9/29/17 and Saturday was 9/30/17.
(also, Wed. was the 27th, and Thurs. the 28th)

Geez. My insomnia this week is killing my brain. So sorry. And I promise I even looked at my calendar multiple times! Guess I looked the wrong month. Bet I looked at October instead of September. ::blushing::

Are we realing talking gun running (planes fit) and maybe someone enfringed on their territory and what better way to mess up someone than to have LE running all around the area -- a rival gang ow whatever would have to cool off for a while .

Pure speculation - and just a thought

Mystery man pictured shielding a woman from Vegas gunfire with his own body is revealed to be a young US Army soldier who ran back into the danger zone and plugged other people's bullet holes with his fingers

US Army soldier Matthew Cobos was photographed on Sunday night shielding a woman from gunfire during the Las Vegas massacre

They ended up on the ground as panicked concert-goers tried to escape gunfire

Cobos tried to protect the woman with his own body and also covered her eyes so she wouldn't see the carnage around them

They were able to run for cover moments after the now-viral photo was snapped

It is understood that once Cobos got the woman to safety, he then ran back into the danger zone to help the wounded

He is believed to have used his belt as a tourniquet and plugged other people's bullet wounds with his own fingers

Right so if he was frugal but rich, why wouldn’t he use his miles? Why would he pay for a flight, even if it was cheap? Especially if he plans of committing a massacre

How many air miles did he have and why is everyone assuming he did?

You usually can't get large tickets like to Manila at the last minute on miles. I gave up on trying to get to Hawaii with miles. Tried two years in a row.

Its actually a crapp# tip for a 95 buck room service !!!

I think his brothers imagination is bigger than the shooters bank account..........

Room service includes a 16% automatic gratuity. Anything you add is above that percent. So an additional ten is generous.

I kinda think the planes were more for moving illegal stuff around the area. Maybe has time passed and operation grew he no longer needed to be the actual pilot and let his license to expire .

The Sheriff made it sound like foreign people are talking - I don't know if that only refers to gf or others

Whatever activity it is I think brother is fully involved -- he kept trying to steer the narrative way into steve acted alone

he kept repeating that

he endlessly needed the world to believe that he was a pro gambler--a cover for illegal something??

It just seems like a long enough time has passed to have some actual documentation about property deeds etc etc etc no?

In other cases here folks know how to get deeds values etc of homes and properties so maybe that is all part of a cover to create a reason for income stream that is really illigal goods or services
