Hi Ames, Those are very interesting observations.

I was wondering ...... now, with the new touch dna evidence, why the BPD would not be be able to access the Ramsey's phone records for that night ........given the scenario that the IDI may have spent hours in the Ramsey's home.

Didn't they try to access those, and for some reason, it appeared as if there were NO calls made during the month of Dec? (If this is true...then you KNOW that cannot be right...of all of the months in the year, Dec. is the time that people would make the most calls, because of Christmas, and parties and such).

They did try. They needed a search warrant, and Hunter refused. About a year later, they did manage to get cell and home phone records for the month of December ONLY. The cell phone records were BLANK. No calls made in December 1996. Right.
IMHO if any incriminating calls were made that night, it would be the cell phones that were used, not the home phone anyway.

I always thought it suspicious that nothing was mentioned about phone calls that were RECEIVED that month on the phones. It's one thing for the cell carrier to say (fraudulently) that there were no calls made, but what about calls that came in to the phones that night? Specifically between 10pm and 6am.

Exactly! Patsy had rubber gloves, needles, syringes, alcohol swabs...etc..that she kept in one of the bathroom drawers...a drawer that was left partly open, the night of the murder. She was shown a picture of the drawer, and she said..."I don't know WHY that drawer would be open like that". DUHHHHH....she LEFT it open, in her haste...that's why. IMO...Patsy used those rubber gloves when writing that RN, that is why her prints are not on the paper. She never handed the RN to John to read, he never touched it at all...that is why HIS prints are not on the RN paper. (He already knew what it said, because IMO, he dictated most or all of it to her, why would he need to read it?) I also believe that RN was NEVER on that spiral staircase, at all.

Ames. I think the gloves also explain why it appeared that the flashlight batteries appeared to have been wiped. Hasn't it ever happened to you (not you specifically Ames), that you go to use a flashlight that hasn't been used for a while and you find that the batteries are flat? So you put new batteries in - and if you're wearing gloves, hey presto - no fingerprints!

Very good point! :D

Ya. I read 'somewhere' that the Ramsey's agreed to provide records and then the offer was later renaiged.?

Hi Tina D.
Good point!

Dunno where I read it but I think it was det.Arndt that said it,Patsy didn't move from the couch when John was coming out of the basement screaming.
I mean, come on,in that situation, you hear your husband scream and you don't even get up?Everything about their behaviour that morning tells me that they knew very well where JB is.
And when John noticed that broken window, his instinct didn't tell him to check further?Yeah right.
Most of what we see in those crime scene photos is what John&Patsy wanted everybody to see,Steve T.always pointed that out and he was right. The window, the suitcase and so on were photographed after the crime scene was (probably) staged. It's not real!(Reminder for Lou Smit)

Yep, you are correct. Patsy's fanny (and the rest of her) sat on the couch, even after Fleet yelled..."WE FOUND HER! CALL AN AMBULANCE".
Patsy knew that JB was dead..and that she was in the basement. If she hadn't of known, she would have went running to her daughter, thinking that she was hurt...but not dead. When someone says to call an ambulance, you don't automatically think "DEATH", you think injured.

Thanks DeeDee..I thought that I had read that somewhere. And you are right..they would have used the cell phone, not the home phone.

IMO As the note progresses the 'french flavour' diminishes.

additions re: phraseology, 'safe and sound' and the 'ne' factor.

'safe and sound' is the expression in English.

the comparable translation in French, is sain et sauf/ saine et sauve pl ( http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/safe ), is not a common expession in conversational French, as it is in spoken English. 'sauf' most often used in the sense of "erreur ou omision" [error or ommission, = but for]

sound translated as a l noun, un bruit, a noise
http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/sound
(most common translatation, use/sense of the word)

sain : sound translated as an ll adjective : http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/sound
sain: 1 to be of ~ mind etre sain/e d'esprit, (most common translation, use/sense of the word,

sain, well being, http://www.wordreference.com/fren/sain

I hope my point is not lost in transation?

Hi Hotyh, hadn't you mentioned the use of archaic expressions within the note?
I'll reread.

I wanted to add that the expression used ie talking to stray dogs, that's not a phrase/image used in the french language, as far as my experience, no comparable phrase in French.

so IMO a frenchman would never not talk to a stray dog, but an englishman would. j/k

Now where it would start getting weird, is if the stray dog talked back. That would be just downright creepy. :D

4. but not the country that it serves.

Intent of expression, for which it stands,

servir: to serve , fr wiki,http://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/servir
wordreference: http://www.wordreference.com/fren/servir

On respecte ..... votre affaire .....mais pas .... le pays ....
We respect .....your business ..... but not .... the country

[ for which it stands ],

The best I can translate these words (given what I see as the 'funcky frenchification' of the ranson notes phraseology)...... would be

We xx respect your bussiness
4. but not the country that it serves.

in choppy french:
On respecte .... votre affaire ......... mais on ne respecte pas le pays ce qu'il represente*.

I choose the word represent, in lieu of the verbe servir,

sevir is expressed as, used to describe a state of being......etre au service, en service, de service;
to be in/of service.

the noun 'server' http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/server is a derivative. ie waiter.

http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/server

server, as a noun , sport, comput serveur

'server' found in these entries:
English: upload - Web server

server(waiter)nmserveur

The Pledge of Allegiance:
http://www.homeofheroes.com/hallofheroes/1st_floor/flag/1bfc_pledge.html

source: phraseology, 'for which it stands'

may be the xx was meant to represent the negative?
the 'ne' factor,

ie On ne respecte pas ..... votre affaire....

ie We do not respect your business ....

Hi Ames.
