2010 - Search Warrant - Gurley

But there was one statement in the report that caught my eye, that i did not understand.
He took his dog to the track/tracks??
When i read that, the first thing, only thing i thought of was railroad tracks, but it seem strange to me. Why would he take his dog to the railroad tracks?...But now i wonder if he was referring to a dog track?
Does anyone know, if he was referring to a dog track and not a railroad track?

We searched all of the outlying area of the logging roads... and up the highway, and along the railroad tracks," said volunteer Stephanie Ross.
Maybe there are abandoned RR tracks not searched yet...

Some reason's I can think of for walking dog on railroad tracks it is peaceful, no vehicals the dog could be without a leash and run. Its not to far to walk to. Maybe to watch the trains when they come and go. Like some watch planes. Maybe took the dog there to clear thoughts and was dreaming of hopping a train like in the old days when people use to hop on an off at different distinations. I can remember as a child we use to walk the tracks and look at wild life and find baby turtle eggs. Just some thoughts.

I agree, under normal circumstance, but we are talking about a person of interest, whom doesnot remmember much at all about that day, and a person they thought could in fact be responsible/been involved/connected to Lindsey disappearance.

These photos, from your link have a date of 7/1/2009.
If that is the date they were taking, and not uploaded and posted.
It could explain why the dogs lost the scent or never got one. But on the other hand, if the dogs searched before this date and the heavy rain, then this posting is obsolete already and can be deleted

Summit Road at the Railroad Tracks

Is there a picture available of this guy? In the vigil photos or something?

I believe the above SW stated that this is the dude from the Shell station video (balding, white shirt, walking the dog...)

Curious to know if Gurley and Imhoff know each other?

The Puget Sound and Chehalis Railroad was the first railroad. It was also known as the Mosher and McDonald Railroad and then the McCleary Timber Company Railroad. The railroad had 12 miles of track terminating on Mud Bay at the current address of 2144 Madrona Beach Road NW. This site is about 1.4 miles up Madrona Beach Road northwest of the park and ride lot on Mud Bay.

I wonder if that was the search off Summit and the RR tracks, by Larson Rd? We had a poster watching it from her house. Nothing to do with her of course, just that we were alerted to it by her and it was big news that day.

Does anyone remember the day when out of the blue we and citizens of McCleary heard about a search on a logging road. I just remember it was a surprise to some here except one of our members who has helped in searching for Lindsey through LE. I believe it was stated that this person actually went to the secluded road and reported back to w/s for us. Where was this road? I'm concerned with one area specifically and this info would help me add to or ex off. I'll look and if found I'll pull posts.

Karen,
I remember this. I don't recall specifics but do recall a local went to the location and there was an official vehicle of some sort so they could not get by. I remember the conversation at the time about the official vehicle and saying something about the plates of the vehicle in knowing that it was LE or something similar. I will search too and see what I can find.

Karen,
Here is the post I was remembering:
Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - WA-10 y/o Lindsey Baum, missing since 6/26/09 Thread #15

It starts in thread 15.

Might have been about this (post 283):
WA-10 y/o Lindsey Baum, missing since 6/26/09 Thread #15 - Page 12 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Was it 4chan posted some coordinates and people mapped them and everyone was worried about people driving out there. I think maps were posted, but then deleted. Is this ringing a bell KageyKaren?

Spot on Jules! This is the second of two post from DD describing the area. He was a gentleman poster so hopefully he will post again. Going to the google map. Thanks Jules!

Ok, I googled "Lindsey Baum" 4chan coordinates and got these coordinates:
47.088684,-123.363293

ETA: I can't get the dang map to post correctly. Just go to google maps and paste in those coordinates above and it should work.

ETA2: Try this, hopefully it works:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou...01,-123.238449&spn=0.128462,0.363579&t=h&z=12

That link is very close to the coordinates but not spot on as a result of using the 'directions' - I don't have my notes with me but the coordinates you posted look to be the correct ones

47.088684,-123.363293

I was not able to get to this area right away but within about 2-3 days myself & others hiked to the location & spent a good 30min+ circling the surrounding area.

The exact location was just over the side of a hill/cliff and was tough terrain to deal with. I'd made sure that there was no question we were accurately on top of the coordinates. (within 1-3ft)

IIRC nothing of interest was found however the area is large and a person or even a team of people could spend days out there. There was also plenty of time before we got out there for LE to do their own search (not sure if they did)

In case some are not aware, according to the above link, if its the same 4chan as you mentioned, its not a very nice site. Just a FYI.
