GARY -- The Lake County Coroner's office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found by the Clay Street bridge by the Little Calumet River.

I live in Northwest Indiana and we have had some serious rain lately which has caused some devastating flooding. Apparently, once the overflowing river receded, someone found this body. The article describes her clothing. I'll post more if an update is available.

Now lets have this be someone that's been reported missing, instead of adding another name to the pile. :(

How far is it from where the Stebics (Lisa who has been missing since May) live to this area? Just wondering...........

I'm glad they have an idea of who she is. Maybe someone who has been missing awhile, like Angie said.

The water association didn't know who would be checking the water levels, and didn't know about a reported body, so who was the 'finder'? If she was partially skeletonized, the recent flooding did not do that, so perhaps someone found a good way to dispose of a body, or a body they had disposed of, was unearthed...would like to hear more if anyone has links related...thanks

The Lake County coroner on Wednesday identified the woman found dead along the Little Calumet River bank Sunday evening as Angela M. Lara-Trowbridge, 50, of Hobart.

Positive ID has been made. Just as a side note, we are about 90 minutes from where Lisa Stebic went missing.
thanks for the info- I was hoping it might be Lisa, so that her case could be put to rest- now apparenlty someone else can be put to rest-

Thank you for that info Mom2threestooges. I knew that it was fairly close, just not how close.

I'm glad that they were at least able to make an identification so quickly.

RIP Angela M. Lara-Trowbridge.

Joshua J. Richardson's 1998 Ford Explorer might contain items further linking its owner to the murder of a former Lake Station woman, Gary police said Monday.

Richardson, 31, of Lake Station, was charged Friday in Lake County Superior Court with murder in connection with the death last summer of Angela Lara-Trowbridge, 51, Gary police Detective Jeff Hemphill said...

Lara-Trowbridge died as a result of multiple fractures to her skeletal frame and multiple blunt force traumas, Lake County Coroner David Pastrick reported at that time.

From September 2008:

Joshua J. Richardson, of Lake Station, was arrested late last year by Gary police in connection with the case. Richardson was charged through Lake County Superior Court with murder, but the case later was dismissed without prejudice...

According to court documents, Richardson had bragged to three companions about killing a "blonde" he had "got from a trailer park." "We put her body there a couple of days ago," Richardson was accused of saying to the three companions while driving near the location of where the body was found.

Hemphill said testimony from the companions was found to be insufficient evidence.
