An autopsy has confirmed that the death of a six-year-old boy who was fatally injured Wednesday on Kahkewistehaw First Nation is a homicide, police say.

Police said the autopsy results reveal the injuries sustained by Lee Allan Bonneau are consistent with being assaulted ...

I am so sorry :(

Rest in Peace, beautiful little man
:rose::rose::rose:

His foster father Ellis Ramstead said the boy had been with his foster mother, who was playing bingo at the Kahkewistahaw Education and Sports Complex Wednesday night.

She gave him money to go to the canteen for a treat, but the boy was attracted by a small dog or dogs just outside the hall, he said.

Ramstead, who was not present at the centre that night, said his wife was watching the boy as he played with the dogs.

"And then, all of sudden he wasn't around anymore and she got looking for him and they couldn't find him," Ramstead said.

After a 90-minute search, Lee was found with serious head injuries. The RCMP said he was located in an open area along a treeline.

Do they think it was the dogs that killed him, or somebody else?

Such a handsome little boy!

RIP, little Lee Allan

I call bs on the last seen story. Jmo. "Um yeah, I watched as a six year old boy went outside to play with a pack of dogs and he just disappeared."

Disappeared while she watched him play with a pack of dogs?

Did the dogs disappear, too?

An autopsy was being conducted Friday. Police said the death is suspicious but haven't said anything about what might have caused his injuries, aside from the fact that they don't believe the dogs hurt the boy.

Prior to autopsy, it wasn't clear how Lee died, but the first article ^^ says that after autopsy, his death is classified as homicide, which literally means "at the hand of man".

RCMP say results of an autopsy Friday showed six-year-old Lee Allan Bonneau sustained injuries that are consistent with an assault.

How awful :( Praying they know who did this and there is an arrest soon.

Why was he in foster care? He was placed there just 3 weeks earlier per the above links.

This world of ours is coming apart at the seams. RIP Lee Allan. Poor little tyke couldn't even play outside with a pup.

Am wondering if it was another random child who happened to be at the bingo facility, or if it is another child that was in the care of the same foster parent.

This is what I worried about. I guess we'll find out on Tuesday at the press conference.

No matter what,.....what a horrific outcome. :cry:

Can't find the presser yet, but found this interesting:

http://www.torontosun.com/2013/09/01/boy-taken-into-custody-in-six-year-olds-death

The suspect blamed for murdering six-year-old Lee Allan Bonneau is safe from criminal prosecution, being just a child himself -- and though the kid in custody is apparently a troubled boy well-known to RCMP on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, there's no way for police to charge him under Canada's Youth Criminal Justice Act ...

While children under the age of 12 can't be criminally charged in Canada, those who commit serious offences can be forced into treatment by social services, including psychological counselling ...
<bbm>

ETA: Can't find presser because it's scheduled for Tuesday, not today ... billy needs to wake up before posting ;)
